- How many acres do you need to start working on soil health?
According to Allen Williams, you can get started with as little as an acre!
It’s all about adapting to your land with the right species, density, and plan.
From chickens and rabbits to pigs / goats / sheep to cattle, the right animal for your land depends on your climate and landscape.
Are you using a multi-species plan on your land? Let us know in the comments!
I'm cheering you guys on ‼️ I've been slowly learning about more natural types of farming for years I'm so happy that it's really starting to catch on more and more. It's amazing what you can do with what God gave us just by simply managing it properly.
You need a lot more land to graze animals effectively. You can do pigs chickens and rabbits on 1 acre all at the same time with proper management.
Ducks work incredibly well too :)

I just made a rabbit tractor! I have 2.5 acres.
When are online classes becoming available? It'd be interesting to see more specific breakdowns like this. Specific details of say how many acres with how many goats, pigs, chickens or cattle etc. Is it beneficial to mix in species of say goats with some hogs or cattle or better to have seperate species and rotate them throughout paddocks? There's a ton of questions people have, please keep the details coming. This is great information. ✌🏼
Experiment ! You cant learn this online ! Every situation is different ! Sandy soil....clay soils..... black soils are different ! No one can teach this. You must learn to adapt to your situation !
@@JimHerman-o3q I don't have a farm, but if I found a way I'm definitely interested in it. One can dream I suppose. The more information the better!✌🏼😁

We have an acre and a half. We have raised 1 pig on our property. We are now raising 2 lambs on our property. We have a dozen or so chickens qnd a few ducks. You dont need a lot of land.

Would rabbits be able to dig out of a rabbit tractor, or does it have a wire floor? Educate me further.
I LOVE your real science! ❤ these vids!
Yes there would certainly be a wire floor.

Chicken wire on the bottom
Do you have advice (or a list of) to find these types of farmers that sell to the public?
There's tons of work to be done connecting farmers and customers. Right now, your best bet it to search for local farms in your area that talk about soil health - there's more and more everyday!
I have a small sick acreage that I have one horse and one mini on. I’m trying to bring it back to life. Can you rotate with horses too as I’ve been told they are so damaging to the soil?
A pasture is never dead ! Bring back to life ? Go out and get to work !!! The land is thriving !
Too bad land has literally gone up from $200/acre to $1k/acre to $20k/acre in the last 5 to 10 years... It's almost impossible to even get started small these days
You can always lease a farm
@@williamdecamp7343 If you can find land available for lease, sure. Most people aren't leasing now that prices are so high or they're charging a fortune.
Seller financing. Just ask a lot.
I'm looking at soay sheep, very small sheep, for my 5 acres.
I would love to find out how.
Please and thank you
No, just no. Just get normal sheep or goats
Website has my email and phone #
Glad to hear from you!

Okay but how many of the animal? He just says acres not herd size
Too many variables like grass quality, how fast or slow does it grow, what part of the country are you in, how much rainfall per year. With cattle, 2 per acre to start and learning how to adaptive rotate. The more grass, the more livestock you can graze on it but not over graze, it requires a rest period.
What recommendations for horses?
I would imagine it would be close to cattle and dependent on herd size! If you were only running a few horses on 10 acres, there would be possibility of running a mixed herd with smaller animals too. Seems like theres wiggle room for learning and growing!
You know that there are places where you LEGALLY cannot have rabbits right? THANK GOD. THEY’RE A BLOODY PEST.
