i love when they drop and you can see the icons of the weapons, very satisfactory specially because i don't see RPGs putting the sword icon at the side of the name
I think Chakram got done dirty. 1 of those in each hand, it's like a forcefield that disintegrates enemies and stops all projectiles, you don't even have to stop walking.
Not only that, but if you have one in each hand and use them simultaneously (like with the shield rod) Alucard will throw one forward at double the range, and you can spam this as well
@@DBCOOPER888I mean to be fair, if you don’t know about it or where to get one, most people probably won’t ever obtain it in a casual playthrough (unless you’re insanely lucky). It took me about 45 mins just to farm for mine.

Shield Rod is pretty OP paired with i forget which shield..cause it summoned a hot naked anime lady, for my 12 year old eyes. And thus caused many a happy moments for me lol
You probably know this, but it wasn't mentioned in the video. If you have a Chakram in each hand and use them simultaneously, Alucard will throw it at double the distance
That combo is so broken I swear every boss suddenly became a toddler game. I remember beating Galamoth and Dracula by just standing and holding the shield.
Idk about S-tier but I used the Alucart gear for the Luck boost specifically to farm for Crissaegrim and Muramasa. The weapon itself though I’d at least put it in C-tier. Not great but not the worst weapon and has _some_ utility.
I know it doesn't matter much for speed tech, but I always thought Fist of Tulkas was great because it was like a weapon and shield combined. It adds great defense, and can even be used to do that cool pose that can block some stuff. Playing casually, it was always my "ultimate shield" along with the "ultimate weapon" Crissaegrim. I also love how you can do the JoJo punches then use the Crissaegrim at the same time, even though it's a bit wonky with how it cancels the punches early sometimes for some reason. That was always my favorite way to fight Dracula. I know, I'm such casual trash. ;p
Remember finishing game with chakram and thinking its the most op thing ever. It was my initial run and I didnt know swords had their special attacks. Didnt know about crissaegrim etc either. I had to play the game again when I learned about weapon skills. Still chakram is an amazing weapon. Great range and good dmg
Stoked to see Marsil getting the love, it deserves it! Highly underrated weapon! I really dig the special attack too, it's good for nailing distant enemies and flying ones too. Very handy in busy rooms with lots of annoying enemies, it one-hits weaker foes most times.
True, the Marsil is very underrated. I always thought of it as an upgraded variant of firebrand sword, due to sharing the same element. The Marsil is actually a fun sword and its special attack is among the coolest specials in the game, in my opinion.
Ice Brand was "that weapon" I picked up the one run of SotN I ever played. I definitely felt like "whoa this is pretty strong " when I got it early. Glad to see I'm not crazy!
same, icebrand is the sword i used for most of my first playthrough until i got back the alucard sword. Then i just equiped the whole alucard set because "thats what i'm suppose to run with".
Fist and knives have two attacks per swing, with the second one you can hold down to block projectiles. This secondary shield move is niche, but results in the famous double hit when you get close to an enemy. It is likely not intended.
got lucky with it on my second playthrough. Dropped it on the 5th shmoo i encountered, not even knowing that this sword existed in the game. I legit discovered it like that and i was like: Wtf is this sword...broken af.
I do wish that you would have been able to level up the creatures that come out of the sword I thought that was the most creative sword out of the whole game a sword that creates an army of wizards and archers and stuff like that is crazy
I completely disagree about Chakram, it is absurdly strong, you can throw 2 it does not interrupt movement and if you have 2 you can throw 4, you can control its distance and vertical speed. It has a native Pierce status which is ∞, even though it is a Slash weapon. Also even though the base damage is 15, it is a bounce weapon, meaning it hits twice. It has a insane swing speed, you really never played with it, it is an offense to have it B tier
Chakram's base damage is technically inferior to the elemental swords, and it is much, much slower than the swords, so not a great damage dealer by itself. It is also cursed for the speedrunner, since you can actually outrun your own Chakrams with backdashing, meaning that it has an even longer cooldown than normal. Still great as a secondary weapon, just use Chakram along with a sword and you will deal good damage.
I feel like the rune sword is one of the best just because of how strong the range and movility with it can get. I get it, damage wise is not the best, but is still strong, I'd put it A+ at least.
Surprised the shield rod was ranked so low, and that you didn't talk about the fact you can just walk through bosses and get healed at the same time if you use it with the Alucard Shield.
said shield is only obtainable in the inverted castle, besides marblung does a better job with damage, speed and literally can be a full replacement over shield rod
As a weapon, it's just decent. Lycanthrope Randomizer really shows it off since you always start with Shield Rod, but the only shield you get is Shaman Shield, the spell gives +10 INT. The weapon works well enough for the entirety of the first castle, but falls off pretty hard starting with the upper half of second castle. With a good shield(Iron, Fire, Medusa, and Alucard shield, maybe Dark shield), yeah, it's so good but yeah, there's a reason people literally equip it only for the spell. For comparison, Mablung stays a lot longer since it does very good damage by itself.
The best part about alucard swords teleport slash is if you're at range that the very tip of your sword missed just teleport slash. as it moves you just so that you're hitting the last pixel of your stationary positions hitbox from the opposite side. Once you get used to it, it just becomes reflexive. But alucart sword has it's uses (muramasa and crisagrim farming)
In my playthrought I always get Masamune, I personally refrain from using Crissaegrim because it's too cheesy where as Masamune it turns you into a glass cannon.
Bro my recent playthrough I was wearing all alucart gear practically the entire time because the +30 Luck was driving crazy crit and also I wanted to complete my inventory collection and this has helped greatly with drops.
Crissaegrim is a 'one touch' with multiple attacks and it doesn't stop Alucard from moving. Rune sword has a wide range with great height. These two I grind for immediately when entering the inverted castle.
Muramsa is the best weapon of all. Once you fully level it, its attack level becomes 999. I did it and it shreds everything. You don't even need Ring of Varda for it. So it gives you free choice for accessories. 2x Nauglamir or 2x Mystic Pendant being nice choices. Not even 2x Crissaegrim, and Shield Rod+Alucard sword are as good as Muramasa. It also hits twice if you air attack. On top of that you got permanent Dark Metamorphosis. To resist Muramasa at all, the enemy must resist BOTH dark AND curse elements. Only in NitM on Saturn is there 1 enemy that can resist. Muramasa is the God of all weapons.
Back in my Ps1 days in Philippines I literally used Gem Sword to kill the Poltergeist surrounding weapons as fast as possible, get the gems, sell it to the librarian, rinse and repeat till I got enough money to buy the Duplicator. I only saw 1 Diamond ring drops from jewel sword kill on my 3rd playthrough to the game lols it was so RNG for it to drop, I was happy if 2 or 3 Onyx rings drops on my run then go back to the library to sell and buy library cards. The grind doesn't really matter to us back then and this is why I miss this kind of game.
Werebane absolutely wrecks early game and is pretty easy to get from Hunting Girl. I try to get it every play through. I was about to comment “Werebane slander” because it does have the stabby stabby special, but they corrected it like a minute later lol

Good hitbox means it's actually on par with Empty Hand. Damage is at least low B tier actually lol. The misremembering is so understandable, though, since you always have superior stuff when you get Alucart Sword, and it just reduces your ATK compared to your current weapon lol.

Werebane C? It deserves B or B+. It has longer range than Rapier and does decent amount of damage. Also Rapier is way more useful than fist, with its special.
The Alucart Sword works very well when you have the rest of the Alucart stuff equipped. Your Luck stat gets a massive increase. But as a sword on its own, yeah it isn't much good.
Try it yourself then and post a video of doing it. I've been doing it as fast as possible and on my 50 hour file I'm only at 800ish attack out of 999 but feel free to prove me wrong

That would put a single one in C tier, but two of them around, probably above the elemental weapons. You're not gonna want to run the game with it, but it ensure you kill dracula and bosses quickly at least.
