Used to belong to the Redskins UK fan club. The NFL didnt come to the UK until 1980's. Travelled a couple of times to see them in the 90's. John Maddens distinctive voice brings it all back.
Bryant was essential to the Redskins' offense from 1988. He went out injured in the Saints game and the Redskins offense never recovered (they we 1-5 to finish the season, Bryant's absence being a big part of that).
Always enjoy watching the Skins defeat the Cowboys, enjoy watching the looks on their fans faces when they are defeated. Those days will be coming back soon for all of the Commanders fans, now that Daniel Snyder and Scott Turner are gone.
Plus one. Two decades away in the Phoenix sun, yet STILL AM A REDSKINS LIFER, hoping this ownership change finally rights the course (being born in 1973 I was spoiled until they just kept embarrassing themselves decade after decade with Daniel Snyder)
It's easy to look back and say that the games against the Steelers, Saints, Eagles, Cardinals, and the Browns, if they would have won, they would have been 8-8. But that would have only kept them in mediocrity for a few more years. By that time, Cowboys fans were tired of the mediocrity and missing the playoffs. By hitting rock bottom and drafting Troy Aikman then trading Herschel Walker, that gave the Cowboys the tools to rebuild and very quickly. The 90s Cowboys were some of the most physical teams in the league.
The Redskins just destroyed a bad team in the Cowboys. 3-13 the Cowboys would be Landry's last season. The Redskins would later fall of a cliff as well ending their season 7-9.
Monte Coleman and Wilbur Marshall loved how they played the game.
Those was the Good Ole days in Washington 😢😢

You know I think of Kelvin Bryant as a good receiver out of the backfield, but he was a darn good runner.

@@RetroSkins Yes I remember that season, that really hurt them.
My favorite all-time Redskin running back.

I almost wonder if that ridiculous trade from Minnesota was not secretly approved or directed by the NFL to keep one of their good boys good?!
