Check out the best Dream Ballet EVER From the Stratford Festival in Canada. A show I saw 8 times, I was floored by this performance of Dream. I've seen BETM about 50 times including London and the UK Tour but this was amazing. In fact I rank Stratford Festival's BETM number two in my Billy travels. Only London show I saw with most of the adult cast from Billy Elliot Live DVD (two weeks before the London closing) ranks above it for me. @@mosshrooms_I agree I saw Stratford 8 times. Among my all time favs. I just got back from seeing the Australian national tour show produced by Universal Theatrical Group who produced the show here in London. It was great but Stratford reimagined the show and it was just magical. So sad it closed.
Jim Michaud i’m sad it closed too. i hadn’t listened to billy elliot (cast recording) or seen the movie. i just knew i liked musical theatre so i decided to go on the field trip. i fell in love with the show after seeing it in stratford. i hung my program in my locker so i see a good memory in a place i’m not so fond of.
This was on my feed this morning. I am wreaked. This is how I am starting my day? My week? Maybe i will stop crying in the shower.... This was just too fabulous.
Tigers&zebras🐯 Thanks for watching and enjoying it. I spent a lot of time making it. I also miss the show and I saw it 13 times In 2017. Twice in Boston, 4 times in Birmingham England, 6 times in Hamburg Germany and 1 on Cape Cod Mass. . Wish I had one coming up in the future but nothing on the horizon.
Jim Michaud wow! I would love to see it in London however it won't happen any time soon! This performance is sensational. I would love to go into the industry however it is very hard to get into! Hopefully it will come back as it is a phenomenal show
I just saw it recently in Syndney Australia, I'm sure you would have loved it. I saw it 6 times there during the first city on the Australian tour. It was great but believe it or not Stratford Ontario Canada was much better! I saw that 8 times there. Next up I'm heading to Halifax Nova Scotia in May to see it 6 times there. That will be 35 shows since last January in 3 countries, 2 continents and 5 US states --- Crazy! Just one small venue in CT this summer and that's it for awhile unfortunately, nothing on the radar until 2021.
I still remember how sick I felt watching the men go back underground when I saw this live as a kid (I must've been around Billy's age). It was, I believe, the second professional musical I saw and I was so scared for them. The staging is incredible and so much more haunting in person.
"Once we were kings" is probably my favourite song/scene from the show. I never saw the show in the West End, my first experience was on press night in Bristol on the UK tour with Haydn May as Billy but what an introduction. Towards the start of "Once we were kings" in the tour show Billy sits on his dad's shoulders and rakes the audience with the light from his miner's helmet, unforgettable. Miss the show enormously.
Hi Neil! As you may know I had the pleasure to see Hayden 4 times between the 10 shows I saw in Birmingham and Hamburg, Germany. In fact I had the privilege of seeing all four boys on the tour. Seeing the London show just before closed was a huge thrill for me. A dream come true to actually be in the theater after seeing the show so many times watching Billy Elliot Live. It was also my first time to London so the whole trip ia a cherished memory. My only regret is I never saw Billy in New York becuz I came to the show so late. Just a couple hours away, had I only known. The show that replaced was Les Miz which I saw 14 times. My next Billy is coming up in April in Florida with Parker James Fullmore (I saw and met him in Allentown PA in Oct.) I saw 3 shows this year and can't wait for Florida next spring. Planning to see Shows 22, 23, 24 and 25 for me. Crazy. - Jim
@@jiphoto2 I watched it with my family and it was probably the best musical I have ever seen. Truly a sensation. The acting was incredibly moving and it had just the right amount of comedic timing. 13/10 definitely
A 20/20 special reeled me in to find more about this masterpiece when I learned that Ben cook and the actor that plays Bernard in west side story were in the musical.. I then by accident found Elliot and the letter.. And it is just so special.. crying all the time .. omg
Buying the Bluray was one of the best decisions I made. It led me to the VPT to see this brilliant show numerous times, and to the final show. A once in a lifetime experience that will never be forgotten by those that were there. Ruthie's passionate goodbye, followed by this scene, played by the Easington Colliery Brass Band, created the most emotional experience ever. The UK tour is good, but doesn't quite live up to the London show.
Thanks for sharing that. I saw Ruthie twice, during 3 shows I caught in March, really loved her performance and that of the man who played Jackie. in fact the whole cast was great. I'm thinking of traveling to England next Spring to see it on tour since once it's gone a professional production might be years off.
you know I watched maybe 12 of the billys on youtube and I must say elliot hanna is my favorite ..maybe its because I seen the musical movie on netflix......
You are right, Elliot was one of the best! I wish I got to see him live in London. I saw most of the adults in the Billy Elliot Live cast when I went to London months later. You might be interested to know I just got back from seeing Billy Elliot the Musical in Winter Spring, Florida this past weekend (4 shows) and I'm planning to go to the Stratford Festival in Canada later in May to see a few there too. Billy lives!
@@Kate-he8ug I saw Nolen 4 times in June he did a nice job and the production is fantastic. However there has been some amazing Billy's in New York and London that I would rate higher. Elliot Hanna is one Tom Holland is another, just name a couple. That Stratford only has 1 Billy is pretty unusual for a show running this long. I met the understudy but he's only going in if there is an emergency. I rate Stratford as one of the best over all Billy productions Ive seen. Dream Ballet is the definitely the best I've ever seen anywhere. I loved it so much I want to see it again.
There's at least one other Billy who does each of the numbers better than Elliott Hanna, as all the boys came with different strengths and different levels of training, but Elliot seems to me to be the best all-round Billy and is certainly as cute as if not cuter than any of the others. When I saw it it on stage in Boston the boy playing Michael was giving his last performance and they used each other's real names when they said "See ya" at the end, which brought tears to Billy's eyes. Don't know if they were real or just good acting, but it made for great theater.
I saw the last Billy in London, and they did the same. Also when "Mrs Wilkinson" said good bye to Billy in the dance hall, all four Billies were on stage and she used the real name of each of them in turn . I think everyone in the theatre was in tears, those on stage as well as in the audience
The Blu-Ray is so much clearer and sharper. It is really worth it. I bought a new player just for this (and I'm a VERY low income senior). No regrets even if I never use it again.

The blu-ray dvd finally arrived today, I can't wait to watch this entire musical in all its glory
Let me know what you think.

The way Elliott Hanna smiles longingly while “Mum” sings is so subtle but so powerful. 😭💕
I as trying so hard not to cry, but i gave up on that... *cries*
this is such a powerful scene!!!! i saw this musical years ago with my dance team and i still have the playbook

I'll applaud you for the ending of the videos hands down. 👏👏👏👏👏
i know this ran for quite some time.... but i would love for the show to come back for another year or 2

Is there a video of that?
I don't think so unless someone made it from the audience.

usually when they call their real names, it means that it is the last performance of one of them
Just the thought of that is making me cry!! What a special and yet heartbreaking moment, just like in the show
Hey Jim I have a question, what is the difference between the DVD and the BluRay?? Does it has more special features? Or what?
The Blu-Ray is so much clearer and sharper. It is really worth it. I bought a new player just for this (and I'm a VERY low income senior). No regrets even if I never use it again.
Blu-ray is better quality and cost more too. This video was made from the DVD. Both are good you may not even notice the difference.
But what about Special Features? I'm willing to spend more on the Blu-Ray if it has more Special Features than the DVD.
Same exact content just the Blu-ray is better quality. I have both no difference.
Alright, thanks! :)Jim Michaud
i spy a spider boy 😌
it’s not tom holland it’s elliot hanna
