Having owned the Trophy 3.5 Buggy in 2012 I felt it was time to get my hands on another car from HPI. Introducing the HPI Trophy 4.6! A 1/8 Nitro Truggy with HPI's F4.6 (Force .28) sized engine. In this video we get the car out of the box, set it up, and start it for the very first time!

Hi, TheRcBiker i had once asked a question on one of you videos of asking what nitro engine would be able to fit in my rc car. The started engine it came with was a GS11r Kyosho engine. But after that I had put a OS max 12cv. i would love to hear back from tou
Hi Victor! I'm not familiar with the car you have but any engine of the same size would fit in. You might be able to drop a .18 engine in too
Thank you that all i needed to know i wasn’t sure what size engine would fit i there. Thank you so much
Hi mate, good vid would you know how i can tell if my truggy is the V1 or V2 model please?
Nice, keeping the vids flowing, love your channel, keep it up!
Lots to come!
First of all thanks for coming back and doing all these new videos, been watching your videos for many years now and Learnt so much, The best well explained and step-by-step tuition on RUclips 💯 I have got this truggy for 5years now and still love this thing when I get time to use it, if it wasn’t for your channel I would have lost interest due to problems that come with nitro cars but but your channel has taught me a lot and now I’m able to teach my friends also thank you so much for the work you put in, and I don’t normally comment, respect and keep them coming, 👊🏾💯
Thanks for the awesome comment Delroy :) Glad you're still enjoying the hobby, can try your patience at times but is worth it !
By the way, RUclips is telling me you're not subscribed! Please subscribe, it helps the channel out ;)
I know those manual feels man. A good manual is everything. A manual is the difference between a pleasure and a parts nightmare. Especially with 2nd hand cars 😄😎👍 keep up the good work
Very true!
Another great review, nice to see you are reviewing HPI products & helping them get back to where they were, would love you to do review/bash on the Savage also!
Thanks, Savage is next! :)
Nice truggy !
Thanks for watching :)
when this rig is dialed in it kicks ass
thanks for watching :)
really enjoying you being back mate! Bought a rovan baja q that things pretty nice
Awesome, have fun!
Nice video's i like to watch Them en the editing is goooooood👍👍👍
Thanks for watching :)
those 4.6 cc sure will come in handy
It's a great car to bash!
I have had quite a few nitros but the only one I have kept is my Schumacher menace 21. That car is insane plus my favourite!
Awesome!! :)
Can’t wait for the bashing video.
Filmed it 3 weeks ago, will be up soon! You guys are 3 weeks behind me Lol
Personally i prefer xray xb8 2017. I had a 3.5 but it was so bad and flimsy i put it in the bin and go a xray. The handling is so much better and more durable than the hpi.
I have a tamia 920 from Japan and they are good
Awesome! Have fun! :)
@@TheRCBiker thanks 👍
What is that thing you plug on top when you were starting?
Bournemouth boysssss
Thanks for watching
Morning RCBiker
👍
Morning Ewin! :)
Love nitro will never go back to brushless now
You should get a hpi savage 2nd hand
Me neither! :)
@@taiteelsey2129 Never mind a second hand one - I was planning to buy a new one! :)
TheRCBiker yeh I got my savage 25 a few months back after falling out with Rc for a while and never Going back to brushless again and saving up for more nitros it’s about 10 years old and looks brand new it’s been bassicly rebuilt love it look on my channel for more :)
Hpi Truggy trophy super voiture
solide 💪💪👌👌
have fun :)
Good looking truggy..
Yes it is , one of my favourites :)
Very nice, I would get it someday.
Awesome! :)
Nitro gang!
The best! :)
You have factory settings for the carbs for the 3.5 trophy?
is it true sometimtes the car wont move on the 2nd tank of fuel because the clutch pads arent worn in yet? is that a thing
No I've never heard of that... clutch shoes become less effective as they wear down, they don't need to wear in as such, especially if they are aluminium ones
Awesome video!
How'd you find a new trophy 4.6? HPI is kinda dead on the water atm lol
P.S A savage next would be a great idea!
Thanks :)
i'm trying to get this hard to get it in the US. even on ebay
I had to upgrade to 17mm hex bro the nuts kept coming and now I’m looking for some strong cvd for front and dog bones for rear or cvd for both
Aren't they 17mm standard? :)
TheRCBiker now bro the use like a wired flanged nut I use a 17mm hex nut
And the flux is awesome just brought some cnc hinge pin braces and put a 18tooth piñon on it
Have you had a hpi savage? Would love to see a review.
No, I was thinking that could be my next car :)
bit late with this one ain't you lol, even later than I was!
Haha, Felt like I needed a HPI to add to the collection! I'm thinking of getting a Savage next, I'll be even later with that!!
@@TheRCBiker Yeah haha, I've got another Savage on the cards ready to start making video's with soon... Not a new one though. :P
@@HaggardRC Awesome stuff, I will keep an eye out for the vids :)
awesome bro I have the flux version bro but want this one I do have a team associated rc8t
Awesome, what's the flux version like?
You have so much cars I'm jealous😂
I'll do a workshop tour soon :)
@@TheRCBiker 😂😂
@@TheRCBiker can't wait😂
Would it be possible to put a link to these products in your vids mate ??
Yes I can do, well this one I bought from Wireless Madness. I also use Wheelspinmodels or Modelsport UK
I don't really have a particular place that I shop at!
@@TheRCBiker nice one fella , always good to look at a couple different shops compare prices and all that ......
Hey I have a HPI MT2 but the carbs seized I’ve tried soaking it in engine degreaser and nitro fuel but it hasn’t worked any ideas thanks in advance ps it’s a rotary not sliding
Have you tried WD40? Degreaser and Nitro are good for cleaning but no so much to release seized parts
TheRCBiker I’ve tried WD40
Try heating it up with a heatgun or hairdryer
Avoid heating plastic parts
TheRCBiker ok I’ll try that Thanks
What fuel would you recommend I have just got back into my nitro cars and currently using 20% for a nitro buggy 1/10 scale is this the correct one? Tyia
Yes that should be fine, as a general rule 20% for 1/10 and 25% for 1/8
TheRCBiker brilliant Thankyou one other thing I was just out with it earlier it seemed a little bit splutery and cut out a couple times do I need to a just the carb?
Yes most likely, return the carb to factory default settings and work from there
TheRCBiker Thankyou for your help 😀
welcome : )
OMG another one :D :D :D !
Tell me about it!
can anyone tell me how i know if my truggy is the V1 or V2 model?
V1
It is awesome that my savage with plastic spur gear breaks.....HPI can go broke
Is go fuel any good bro
Go Fuel? Not sure I've used it!
TheRCBiker no bro vp fuel
@@joshchatwin8179 Not used that one either, it's quite expensive! I'm back onto Optifuel now
👍🏻
Thanks for watching Craig :)
