Summer is quickly fading and while I am savoring this season- I am so looking forward to fall (which is my most favorite season of the year). This week we had some really nice crisp cooler days here in KY- so we got out and took care of our pig pen- harvested some marigold seeds- made a simple sunflower bouquet, turned over the compost pile and made on of my favorite meals- Chicken and Dumplings! I love days on the farm like these where I can work outside without breaking a sweat! Come along with me and enjoy the last days of summer on the farm!

I had to smile at your comment about cool weather thoughts of chicken & dumplings. Coming to Kentucky many years ago from Cajun country I think GUMBO.
