wow !! looks so realistic ! amazing
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!
Clear explanation, great video.
Thanks Jason!!
You know, the nordic shield is center griped and the boss is where you put your hand on, other wise good workmanship... the nordic shields did not have bearwood in front, it was covered in thick painted leather.
why you didnt do central greep?
Hi DL,
Unfortunately I am not an expert on shields or weaponry and these builds are not made to follow historical standards. They are for cosplayers who want to make their own shield that looks good for themself, and to carry it to a festival or a convention. Sorry about the handle details not being authentic. Thanks for watching!

Cool beans dude keep it coming! I'll be in touch
My brother has been bothering me for a shield so I think I'll definitely make him one of these. Where did you get your foam? I can't find anything online that does thicker than 12mm
Hey Black Bear! Yeah! That sounds cool! And this build is super easy with even the smallest amount of craftiness.
I buy all my foam from TNT Cosplay Supply in Texas. They have 18, 24, 36 and 48MM! They rock. These thick pieces are under the EXTRA THICK section - I think it’s like the page 5 in their shopping section.
Too cool man, have fun!
nice shield
Where do you get eva foam single sheets large enough to make this shield?
Hey David!
This was one of my very first builds so back then I was actually just going to my local Lowes and buying 2' x 2' 1/2" thick floor mats ( the kind with the puzzle piece edges like in a gym or a preschool ) and the shield fits on there fine. I’m sure Home Depot has the same floor mat foam too. It usually has one side smooth and one side with a fake diamondplate pattern on it.
But if you want to go bigger, I now buy all my foam from TNTCOSPLAYSUPPLY in Texas - you can buy 12MM (.5" thick) foam sheets much larger than 2' x 2'. Plus TNTs stuff is smooth on both sides which is great.
Thanks@@BlackSheepProps That's convenient since they're located here in Farmers Branch, 21 minutes from me.
May i ask what glue do you use?
Hi Saskia!
I use contact cement for most of my parts but I also use super glue for some of the really small parts.
Here is my video on contact cement : ruclips.net/video/LyF134qG_ys/видео.html
And you can watch any of my build videos to see the complete process : ruclips.net/user/BlackSheepPropsvideos
I hope the videos help!
@@BlackSheepProps Top thanks!

Thanks for watching man!
Some people dont have the time to watch a 2 part video waiting for you to mention what is the dimension of the shield!!!
Then don’t have to watch it. That’s cool.
