Beautiful playing, this deserves more recognition.
Absolute magic, I have my two CD volumes almost worn out but never had the pleasure of hearing Nigel live. Many thanks. Kind regards. Gérard lacey in Ireland.
One of the best Bach interpreters on any instrument, i wish he had recorded the complete lute suites by Bach.
I AGREE!!!😑
He is on a par with anybody alive now playing Bach lute
maravilloso documento sonoro del gran laudista NIGEL NORTH

Who made the lute? Michael Lowe?
I believe it is a 13 course by Swedish luthier Lars Jönsson.
It's one big!! No ? One great
Great performance and thanks to Nigel North, he is really one of the best Lutenists in our days. But nevertheless, I think that violin sontatas sounds better on the violin that on the lute, what do you think?
I expect that Nigel plays the lute far better than the violin!
Superb musicianship-shame that it was wasted because of the lousy recording.
There also seems to be a fellow walking up and down the aisle on crutches while playing castagnettes, dominoes and checkers! A virtuosic performance nevertheless, especially in terms of tonal colour and phrasing.
