What a great game. What I love is that despite it being Disney it actually has quite a bit of challenge to it (especially harder modes). And the mid/end stage bosses actually took some damage rather than the standard 3-5 hits.
It's kind of disappointing that the sequel are a Cakewalk in comparison. Increase the difficulty, and all that happens is that you start the game with less hearts. In this game, the bosses get faster and stuff. Regardless, there is just something satisfying about beating up the bosses in this franchise in general.

The hardest thing about the game was the second boss in the fire world u needed to play flawless or he Regeneratet very fast his health

I had this game when I was a kid. It was crazy hard, but also exciting.
yea i did too my cousin actually gave it to me to rent but thankfully never took it back so i could play it whenever i wanted and it’s honestly my second favorite snes game right next to donkey kong country 3
Hard to believe that this game is actually hard at times. For me it was the jumps in the mountain level. Stupid grappling hook

I know console Wars made fun of them, but does anyone else have a soft spot for the sound that the bosses make when you hit them. There's just something satisfying about it.
Was the Pete boss battle DRM? Was watching on on PC and my sister was sure that had to be the reason, but my feeling is the 80s and 90s would totally do that unironically.

This game was for all intents and purposes a reskinned Super Ghosts and Ghouls considering the first boss alone is Red Arremer but with Petes face.
I noticed there was a palpable Ghosts 'n Goblins like ambience. The music, the animation, the gameplay. Final Boss Pete's walking really sealed the deal, though.

Well That ending sucked the entire game was just a dream
A major rule in writing is that you can never end a story in "It was all a dream" or a hallucination as it basically invalidates any character development during it such as the hardships they endured or accomplishments or successes they achieved.
Though I guess it can be used as a plot device to make a character realize the importance of something, for example a loved one or what one has in life.
But making a journey of adventure and hardships just a dream in general earns more ire from readers, watchers, or gamers than applause.
Mario 2 doesn't even exist.

This game ended the same way Mario the second game did. And to be more accurate that world is real. The question is not whether or not that world is real it's a question of what form it takes. It's a part of your brain without it you would be dead that's been proven. And it can have an impact on your physical health depending on what goes on and how intensive is. And also it can happen more than once. Speaking of perceptions. Are you the dreamer or are you simply one of the aspects of another person's dream.
