About a month ago I went with a friend to his late grandfather's house. Found his restored '50 Fargo. Black, chrome wheels, Fenton dual headers on a stock 6. We were checking stuff out in the shop and I found an Edmunds Custom intake with a pair of matching one barrels and all the linkage on it and new chrome air cleaners, all for the little 6! Someone in the family had dibs on the truck though.
Gorgeous truck and fantastic work, a-and fantastic walk thru of your process once again! Well done and thank you! Yesterday I put an LGKustom sticker on my welding mask, first one on my lid and proud to fly your brand! Go LGKustoms, keep moving forward!
Nice gearing... he has the grunt with the BB and long legs in town,, seems like with higher rpm at cruise, a person is always thinking he should have overdrive...and so on it goes..
That is a real good swap. Now we know what will fit right in a !950 Fargo truck for a rear axle. Where did you get that little man running around out there?
Another great segment…A Tremec TKX 5speed might have been a better solution rather than rebuild the T10 and change the entire rear end, also why not a 9” rather than the flimsy 8” behind that monster BBC?
A Tremec TKX is like $4000 not including the crossmember modifications, driveshaft modifications and work to get the shifter to come out ahead of the seat. As for an 8” vs 9”, yes a 9” is the stronger rear end, but the 8” is still a fantastic rear end and much stronger than the original. But the main reason I chose an 8” over the 9” was availability. Used 9” rear ends don’t exactly grow on trees these days (Ford stopped using them almost 40 years ago) and I just happened to find this 8” on marketplace for $300. It was the correct width, same bolt pattern and checked all the boxes for solving John’s highway problems.
@@LGKustoms I guess I knew the answer before I replied, thanks for the reply, really enjoy your channel and watching Lux grow up..keep up the good work.
Totally depends on what you plan on doing with it. Gonna go drag racing? A 9” is probably a good move. John, who owns this truck, just wants to cruise comfortably and take his garbage to the dump. This truck will never go down the race track, never do a burnout and probably never hurt this 8” rear end. He drove it for a whole summer with the stock rear end and never had an issue. The only reason for the swap was for a better gear ratio.
A Big block chevy, how original. How about a Ford Cleveland or a 392 Hemi. It needs a mopar engine. You ruined ut. I like the flathead 6 better than a chevy. Why an 8" rearend. You can get a 9" the same width. The only 2 rearends I ever blew were a 56 Chevy and an 8" Ford. Even the Hipo Mustang had a 9" from the factory.

So cool! Hot rod six!
That Fargo is gorgeous 👍. Nice swap, Lee!
Always fun to watch your vids. The little baby is really motoring around the homestead, growing like a flower.

Fantastic truck now made so much more user friendly.
Good job😊
Thanks!
Nice swap . That 8 in. rear is perfect for it .
I think so too!
Nice job you made that look easy. That gear will be just fine 70 at 2200 awesome
It was easy Badge! 🙏

Yea the big block torque doesn’t seem to care about this 2.79 ratio at all
Awesome and cool truck 👍
Huge improvement over the original diff. Seemed to be a relatively easy swap, too.
Super easy
Thanks for sharing!

Jim stop talking so much! just kidding, great upgrade on the Fargo.
Still have that grease or something on your neck!
😂
It will take a little more than swarfeger to get that off. 👌
Common sense approach 👍👍👍

Prepare for action!!
Don't big blocks run better with 9" rear ends?

Go back to the start of the build and you will find your answers. 👍
I have literally never seen a Fargo. That looks like a dodge pickup to me.
If you’re American that would make sense. They never sold Fargos in the US.
