20 years ago i used to DJing with vynils and a simple controller. I sold all my vynils (ATB, Darude, Clublanders, Attica and a long long etc) this next week ill start to DJ again since i just purchase from second hand a Traktor S2 SMK3. Now i have to children and im married, but the feeling of mixing will always be the same if not more powerful

You know whats crazy man is the entry level controllers are actually getting so complex and so much more to them that you can actually take a little controller like this or the ddj 400 and get some rca to xlr cables, plug into a house system or some speakers and rock a dance floor just as good as you could with something like the 3000 dollar rzx. I have actually invested in a entry level controller due to the portability, the more complex features the come with now and i have all the essential cables to plugging into a professional system and i have been loving it. I dont have to lug around a huge gig bag with a huge controller i literally carry it in a backpack with my laptop, headphones and cables and rock out whether it be at the bar, club, house party, work, on the train you name it lol. And this guy kills this mix on this S2 man its awesome!
definitely. controllers have finally come past that "bedroom hobby DJ" feel

I actually sold my S4 and bought a S2. I rarely used more than 2 channels and the software is the same. I actually find it better to mix with as there’s less to mess about with so I’m more focused. Can always buy one of the Z controllers if I want more flexibility.

Great video. Great mix. How are you capturing the audio? Today i has a nightmare. I came out of my Traktor S3 booth into a RODE iOS sound adapter I’ve used for 3 years on my pioneer set up with no issues. But it wouldn’t send the sound. So to prove I wasn’t being stupid. I fed my S3 into my DJM 800 mixer and then fed the sound out for the DJM booth into the RODE adapter then into my laptop and it worked. Ball ache. I tested all outputs one the S3 and they are all sound. booth masters RCA and XLR. But for reason I couldn’t capture the sound into a laptop or iPad or iPhone. Loving the S3 so far but could have done without that. My MacBook Pro comes this week so hoping this May fix a few issues. Anyways. I’d be interested to know how you are capturing the audio.

Dope! loving the new Mixer FX effects. Can't believe the S4 mk3 doesn't have a sampler volume control but the smaller S2 smk3 does?? Weird!!
Brandon Unger the sampler decks are channels C and D on the S4 mixer. Or you can use them as regular decks or STEMS decks.

Can you explain me why? Im new in the DJ world
1 kontrol F1 got mapping for 4 track deck / 4 remix deck / 4 sequencer deck depends on combination and u shuffle between decks. u just need 1 mixer. haven't seen 1?
by the way it is for modular set up. depends on how you play, do you play traditionally like transitioning tracks or mash up and remixing live which makes kontrol F1 powerful here.
why u just Need 1 mixer? you plug all per usb hub to the comp. or you mean using 2 s2mk3
@@anaanton1986 1 mixer with internal soundcard or 1 analog with external soundcard. Then u can toggle between decks. Like having instant double on serato.

I started with traktor before switching to serato. Traktor seems a little bland compared to Serato and Rekkordbox. How do you feel about traktor compared to the other platforms?
Bland? I love Traktor for its effects options! I feel that with some creative thinking, Traktor gives you more power to manipulate and break down tracks than the other major software platforms.

there was a time when Traktor was just a software, we used to assign control functions to the keyboards.. these kontrols look so much fun, not to mention intuitive... haven't used this software in probably 10 yrs and i can understand everything that's going on in this clip..

What's going on with the phase meters? Aren't they supposed to be in middle if beatgrids match?
Crossfader don't use SYNC. He beatmatch manually.
It's because the third (remix) deck was the master and the samples he used had an offset of 1/2

Do you ever get audio stutter issues with this? It happens to me every 30 seconds or so when using Traktor Dj 2, any advice? (using a macbook m1 and an adapter cable, problem only happens when I plug the controller in)

How do i turn off the motion sensor on the jogwheels? It's ruining everything. It stops and scratches a song when my hand is about 3cm from touching the jogwheel. Its a terrible and pointless feauture and I cant find any help on how to disable it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Think about that... When I first got gear that cannot even do half the stuff possible on an s2, it was a Set of 2 CDJ 400 and a DJM 400
That was about 1500€ if I remember correctly...
Now you get a controller for 260€ that can Do more. Ok you need a Laptop but for Traktor, any 400€ Laptop should work totay...

Good DJ but scam controller it only has the appearance of the S4 mk3 not the actual upgrades.
Don't let the look of the controller fool you be sure to do some research to understand all they gave the S4 mk3 that they didn't give to the S2 mk3 or that was dropped from the previous S2 mk1/mk2.
The only thing I don't like about this kind of stuff is the original skill is just lost .

I get ya man I remember laying on turntables when the skill mattered and Doing was enjoyable but had is Cons of carrying 3 one hundred record boxes everywhere .. now its just a laptop/ usb pen lol but I quite like the controllers from Traktor.
You can more or less do beatmatch by ear, actually with Traktor it's easy, I have a config where I hide every parameter (even the BPM), I only see the track overview and title, and I beatmatch with the pitch fader and the jog, and it's pretty fun. It's not the same as vinyl but you can get close enough with controllers, using sync and the sample decks is optional remember.
