June Anderson sings "L'amerò sarò costante" from Il rè pastore by Mozart, Joshua Bell : violin, Gerard Schwarz conducts - New York, 7 July 1993, "Mostly Mozart Festival".
guarneriviolinaddict: The violinist is Joshua Bell. He was about 25 at the time. He's a Grammy winner, an Avery Fisher prize winner, and a a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I guarantee you he is plenty "refined."
L'amerò, sarò costante: Fido sposo, e fido amante Sol per lei sospirerò. In sì caro e dolce oggetto La mia gioia, il mio diletto, La mia pace io troverò.
Moffo, Popp, Leontyne Price, Schwarzkopf, fill the fermata in Bar 106 of DME Mozarteum score with various cadenzas, far from Mozart, long, lowering these great sopranos. June Anderson OTOH uses (7:01 - 7:27) the same wonderful cadenza (short, extremely simple, plain, moving, "obvious" as everything Genius: you can't tell from the Mozart around!) as McNair and Angela Maria Blasi. Which somewhat redeems Anderson's and Joshua Bell's mannerism elsewhere in this aria. Thu 20 Sep 2012 14:48 GMT
Superb posting and lovely interpretation of this seldom performed gem. Sung to perfection. It's a shame this violinist is not refined enough to play without all the silly swaying about..musically he phrased this nicely.
no question about the violinist :o sensititive rendition by Joshya. For some reason the singing does not grab me, it is not as sincere even though it is gorgeous. Perhps a little forced when compared to Kathleen Battle and Elizabeth Schwartzcopf
Well sung, but a bit slow and maneered. I highly prefer Sylvia McNair with Neville Marriner & ASMF... or even better (if ever possible) Angela Maria Blasi, again with Neville Marriner: this one will really break your heart (then don't come back here, or you'll get down to earth)
It seems you are judging on what you WANT to hear, rather than listening objectively to the performance at hand. It's just different, not "mannered" or the like. And, what is she singing? It's not a romp, but a very tender testament by the character. Just as good an interpretation as the others, merely different. Give the lady credit, as a true critic would.

June Anderson's voice is so pure and lovely. Her interpretation of this aria is so unique and remarkable. Thanks for posting.
Beautiful voice! Also the slow interpretation with a lot of tension touched my heart.

Much appreciated. It’s clear you have a professional view point. Have nothing to add.
He's one of the best violinists alive, by the way...
Can anyone translate this song to English for me? Thank you!

She has hell a lot of hair :p But also a great voice ;)
And I like the violin a lot!
I prefer the version of Leontyne Price, absolutly sublime....
her shit stinks...... she didn't study correctly when she was young and it showed throughout her entire career.
Love Joshua Bell’s playing; a great virtuoso... wish he would quit the silly facial expressions!

Certo pero` con i soprani non ci si capisce mai niente cosa dicono!! Meglio usare un fischetto! Ma cosa canti che non ci si capisce un tubo!

What on earth does standing still have to do with being refined? A dumb comment even for youtube.
what the HELL is up with that Bride of Frankenstein hairdo she's wearing!?!?!?? LORD GOD that looks awful !
