    • @PURESOUND4
      @PURESOUND4 5 лет назад

      I don't think so. As I understand it, the loading wall/ port in a 4th order enclosure does two primary things....
      1. The port "tunes" the front section to a lower note than the subs naturally peak at in their relatively small rear enclosures ( or in this case, the tubes).
      2. The loading wall adds front resistance to the cones motion, helping them to handle more power when the doors are open, without bottoming them out.
      Neither of those benefits would dramatically increase the SPL on the dash. However, if it lets you play lower, and let's you demo (doors open) without destroying the subs, then it's usually thought to be better than a flat wall right up at the B-pillar. Since this is more of a "one note, burp monster" than a 30hz demo truck, I'm actually surprised he went with that type of enclosure.

    • @UnofficialAudio
      @UnofficialAudio  5 лет назад

      This type of enclosure is the only way to fits this much cone area and proper port area into this vehicle

    BITD we ran pink noise through and watched the RTA for peaks. Typically the hump was resonant frequency. I don’t know about that software but if you can watch all frequencies at once in real time it will get you closer quicker than sweeping from 20hz up.

  • @SigmaBallistics
    @SigmaBallistics 5 лет назад

    Great method, sweeps are just completely useless because they are too quick.
    My personal method that many people love is to use when I show them is a sine wave app (I personally use the xplicit audio ultimate car audio app with their tone generator).
    Within their program you can type in any frequency you like and you can hit the + or - buttons to go up or down in frequency, and you can do this without stopping the sinewave from playing as well so it kinda simulates a very low sweep. And since it's continuous you can easily tell to the ear which is the loudest (obviously this is used in conjunction with an spl meter as well, but you could totally get away with not using a meter for a very close peak freq estimate since you can tell by ear if you didn't happen to have a mic on hand).
    Your method is technically best though because it simulates the exact spl scenario as you would in the lanes and you wouldn't get the voltage drop associated with playing longer tracks.
    Great video though man some people really needed to hear this lol.

    Use 24 bit wav files they have 144 dB of dynamic range vs 96 dB of the 16 bit wav CD .. 6 dB per bit... the noise floor is less & there is more dynamics in 24 bit audio. A mp3 is worst due to is being lossy and removing parts of the frequency range, the lower lows & highs and the bit depth ( noise floor info included ) is removed for either variable bit rate or constant bit rate.

Just a little more detail im lost how it helps without it loading or does that not matter to peak frequency but if not, wont the wall provide more area taken up result in a different peak frequency. Please explain a little im well versed in this but that got me or im too tired to think right now.

  • @bdaudio9395
    @bdaudio9395 5 лет назад +1

    I may not be right but I question if that’s ur current tune being that every time ur dB went up the power seem to jump a fair bit, wouldn’t you be better off testing each frequency at the same power to make sure u find the most efficient frequency? I no in my burp car 100w can be a huge dB difference wen it comes to frequency’s my guess is ur peak may actually be more the 67-68hz
    But sorry if I’m wrong lol

    I used a pink noise signal (all frequencies at once) and determined my peak to be @ 58 hz. So I went straight to my DSP and flattened that peak completely out. Then, where it tried to roll off, below 30 hz, I bumped that up a bit. Not trying to build a burp box. SQL is where its at. If I were just trying to be "nothing but" loud, I wouldn't even run mids or highs, AND I would chop everything below 50hz + everything over 70 hz..... and then feed it a really strong 58 hz signal. But I digress. LOUD is easy. SQL is music to my ears ;)
