Okay, I just happened upon this video. Sorry I'm two years late, but is this test about which reeds are best out of the box, or which reeds are best? Why do you not take into account that a reed needs to be "played in" to get the best vibration and response?

I got a 5 piece box of Hemkes for tenor saxophone and the first 3 reeds didnt make a seal with the mouthpiece no matter how much I tightened the ligature and I didnt bother trying the remaining 2 reeds. I get good seals with regular cheap Ricos than with Hemkes

Was this comparison designed to demonstrate that a jazz reed works better on a jazz mouthpiece? Or perhaps, surprisingly, that the V16 reed seems well-matched to the V16 mouthpiece?😅

Ok - V 16. But in reality every reed needs to be played longer to know that it´s a reed. But, this is fun!!!!
