I am sorry for your loss. I too, am a widow of 7 years. We were hs sweethearts and he died and left me devastated. This song( and all of OD’s music paint a picture. I hope you can find consolation. It never gets better, it just gets different. No one will replace my first love, but I finally found someone totally different but it is a new chapter, and so wonderful. ❤

I can’t think of words strong enough to declare how good these guys are! They could sing a shopping list and it would be fabulous!!!!!
This song, really strikes me and I didn't realize why until listening to it many times. Soothing, in a way very few songs are. It has an air of acceptance and moving forward, in my humble opinion.
I've always functioned as a therapist for all my friends and I've always had an open door/fridge policy, for any friend. Every friend I've ever had, I've told "if I've got a home you've got a home, if I've got food you've got food." If you need a place to crash, an ear, a meal, whatever you need; if you're someone I consider a friend I will be there if at all possible. This is a rule I've lived by for my entire adult life.
I'd like to think I've helped a lot of people, they certainly say so and most of them eventually put their lives back together. But there's a select couple people, who have chosen to take this open door policy as a free meal/hotel ticket and I've recently had to put a stop to it. Its It's 1 way street with these 2, there's no reciprocation and worse than that, It has gotten to a point I feel used. They've shown themselves to be nothing but users, but I still feel conflicted about shunning them. They are both friends since childhood and cutting them off isn't something I want to do, but I'm being taken advantage of.
So, at long last, the bar's closing down.
Sadly some people are really self-centered and don't realize the things other people do for them.
For what it's worth you sound like a great friend to have.
