I remember wanting a Genesis so bad the time this game came out. My family was struggling but for Christmas they saved every penny and got me a genesis, Sonic, and this game. It was on the couch when we got home. I was so excited! I went to my room and my dad hooked it up for me and I beat this game straight through without getting up. My mom told me a few years ago that she had worked doubles to pay for it since my dad was just diagnosed with cancer and lost his job. I was always thankful.

I remember buying this game at PC Richards & Son, because of the box art. I come realize that it was for the genesis, while I had the snes. Thankfully a friend next door had the console so I could play it. What an awesome time to be alive as a kid 🥰🙌
while I wasnt a kid in the 90s, I was born in 2006, I had a sega genesis, this game, frogger, and the two sonic games, and more games, like terminator, but I never really played it, but I always played those others, im 16 now, I used to play those games so much when I was like 7 and younger, I specifically remember getting my ass beat by my friend who was like a sister to me while doing two player and getting so mad she kept beating me LMAO, I usually picked madame woe
I used to LOVE this game so much when I was little! So many great memories! One weird thing that happened with me was the MUSIC used to scare me as a little kid. I used to ask my Mom to hide the game from me bc I was addicted to playing it bc I loved Power Rangers so much. Then I’d find it and get the music stuck in my head and the cycle would repeat again and again haha. Rita’s cutscenes I always thought had a sinister sound to them for a children’s video game. Even today I think it’s a little darker than it should be lol. This might just be my experience. The MMPR theme and the Green Ranger cutscenes I used to LOVE watching!!

This game is so fire it’s like a side scroller/beat em up and the combat is really technical and fun . I bet when it came out the kids were spilling they’re honey combs all over the place .

Yeah I remember playing this game as a kid me and a cousin of mine would play it for hours I always choose the red ranger he was my favorite at the time and my cousin loved the green ranger I think you get the green ranger later in the game.

I was playing this on my emulator yesterday. It's still fun to play today! I played this one and the Snes version. I forgot how great they were back then. Playing them yesterday, brought back so much nostalgia
I love this story and can feel how much this meant and will always mean to you. My mum saved my child benefit every week for who knows how long to get me a white bmx at Christmas. My dad carried it home from the shop so the wheels didn't get dirty, its making me tear up even now. I lost my mum when I was 18 to cancer. Hold onto those memories.
I loved how you could play as evil green ranger in the player vs player matchups
Never could pick a favorite PR fighting game as a 90s kid. I liked this one on Sega because you could play as rangers, zords, or monsters. My old Power Rangers Fighting Edition on SNES was also a keeper because that one had thunder, ninja, and shogun zords, not to mention Zedd and Ivan Ooze. Never had a Sega as a kid, but wanted one because of this friggin game.
I still have the game. Man I was waiting for those special combos though. Where I think if you hold the b button on the controller for the megazord, for quick second emerges with the dragon sword and the drill penetration. And same thing as some of the lightning strike with a sword during battle. And I didn't know this until later when you play two players, there's a special sequence you do you can play as the Green ranger as a monster ( a big version of Tommy versus the megazord, or Monster). Same thing when playing cyclops, you can turn into all gold and shoot like 25 rounds of flame balls.
You kept the battles consistent with each matching ranger for each fight, thanks.
This is one of the games from my childhood. I miss it if I could, I’d find it again and get a sega genesis just to play it

I know games have cutscenes but this one of the first games that got me to pay attention to cutscenes

I loved this game after playing it but i was expecting a beat em up power rangers game not a fighting game i still played the hell out of these 70 dollar games back then thank you mom love ya😂😂😂😂

Godzilla fans in the early/ mid 90's. This was one of the rare games that oddly satisfied your Zilla needs in video games. Which during this time we would take any close to a decent Godzilla game in NA.
I used to play this game on Sega Genesis. I used to play as the black power ranger.

@@GabrielDejeZues yep. You can play as Tommy on the Sega CD version, but it really doesn’t count since it’s showing the green with evil episodes

Cyclopsis was a tough Zord to beat.
Man that green ranger was a bitch to beat. I don't think I ever made it past him as a kid.
Me and my brother would play this game for hours and hours, then put in the Power Rangers the Movie game and play that for hours.

It's kind of a street fighter version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
It does sound similar to Godzilla but dragon zord sounds more like the sentai counterpart dragon Cesar

I used to have this game as a kid back in the 90s! I used to play this game with my family and have a blast. Great game. I was obsessed with the TV show back then when it was cool and always tuned in.. I never had an action figure of them though.

This really goes back to a time when multi-platform games were not just essentially carbon copies of each other. Look at this game compared to the Super NES Power Rangers game. They are completely different experiences. Aladdin is another example where the games are completely different experiences from one another. I kind of wish we still had that today with multi-platform games. It definitely made for some interesting diversity on the consoles.

I remember playing player vs player mode. Dragonzord was nearly unbeatable because he had a move we called the 'Crazy Move' where he would glitch and be impossible to hit.
