Very nice. So, the Komatsu d21 is a cost effective machine? Parts east to get, easy to repair, and low priced? How much do those rubber tracks cost to replace in USD? How many hours do you get on them if you are careful? Thanks for making this video. It is very soothing to watch as I've spent my whole life operating my own machines. Thanks
Not bad at all 👍 Pretty sweet without the steel tracks clanking - not many open cab dozers you can run without ear muffs! Looks like it does a better job pushing out than a skid would do - guess that's what it's designed for tho. Good video bro
Sounds like an hst transmission. The whine is annoying but not near as loud as other machines would be. But hst transmissions have just a little less oomph than a comparable hp & weight gear drive machine. HST isn't bad but it's just a different way of doing things. They have extremely high torque when you are just barely making them move but the faster you go the less they got
Sounds like it’s starving for power a bit when the blade is being lifted or tilted. It’s also doing a lot of spinning. However I’m use to a D6. I guess this dozer has its place 👍🏻
is this a custom install, or a factory option ? Cool idea, I can see it being good working in a subdivision, where you are running over concrete or asphalt at times.
I dont think we have this in the states. We would probably use a 12k lbs compact track loader around 100hp. However what does this unit weigh in at? I love the idea though! Lmk and ill subscribe haha
I'm sure you can get a set of rubber tracks for a 939 cat track loader or a 450c track loader or an old case 850C or 855D track loader. As a matter of fact, now that I think of it, that would really be great.
Hey dude, i watch your digger posts with the 2d idig system and im just wondering what you think is better for house pad finishing. I have 6t digger with 2d i dig but find its abit finicky to get the plus or minus 5 or 10mm.
Depends how much you want to spend mate, if you have alot of work I’d say get at the least a wee vermeer or boxxer with a small sharpgrade laser blade or a bigger skid with one
i thought abaut puttign rubber tracks on my trackloader, i got to ask you how well it performs, also id need to know if you can cross a street or drive for like 1/4 mile on a street without damaging the pavement with these rubber tracks, also did you modify the undercarriage ?
I dunno if you've found your answer or not by now, but yes, you can run a rubber tracked dozer/crawler on the street as long as you dont have ice cleeats on the tracks. It be no different than running a rubber tracked skid steet on asphalt or concrete.
Very cool, I'm glad I'm not the only one still using these. Awesome little cats.

Thanks mate, bit undersized but does the job. Camera mount crept down so cut half the visibility off lol

Poor thing was pretty undersized haha, only about 4.5t from memory.
Plus the piles were pretty wet and heavy
No longer have it, 14t loader replaced it
@@NZDIRT I like the little guy I’d grade roads all day with it
Really cool I haven’t seen one like this before! Great vidya!

This is actually a option you can choose, when you purchase this machine.

I believe this units 4.5 ton, rubber tracks are rare for this size

Rubber track ain't worth a crap on a dozer that need to be left for the small equipment.
I’d disagree this would be great for residential work with a 2d/3d automatic laser system
Bet it eats those rubber tracks though
Id imagine prolonged use would chew them out quicker than steel, but they were meaty wee things
