Some gameplay from Battlefield 3 campaign running at maximum settings at 1080p on the PC.
I normally run games at 2560 x 1440, and I get a steady 45 FPS with everything at Ultra, it occasionally drop to 30, but for the sake of recording I dropped it down to windowed 1080p, because FRAPS can hurt FPS. When recording in 1080p I get 30-45FPS in the heat of action, normally about 30 fps. Without FRAPS, running at 1080p usually gives me up to 60 fps.
My PC specs:
Single GTX 580 3gb
i7-2600k 3.4ghz Processor
8gb of RAM
Dell U2711
This gives me so many feels at once.
I was going to wait for Ivy-bridge before upgrading my PC. I just realized I can't wait that long. When Ivy-bridge is released, I'll have to buy an insane computer to replase my slightly less insane computer. Shit! >< This is so fantastic

It's amazing to see how bad the graphics are compared to PC. I would love to buy a gaming PC and can certainly afford it but justifiying myself to do so for one game (and yes BF3 is one game with no other PC shooters that are worth it). Sick video though, graphics are unreal. Now excuse me as I go play on Wackbox.

My HD6870 + Phenom II X4 3.2GHz ran the Beta at 40-50 FPS with everything on High, textures on Ultra and 2x AA =D

@Minime637 No. Ive seen an i3 with 3.0 Ghz, 4gb of ram dd3, A SINGLE gtx 560ti run at huge resolutions, people thought this game was gonna be uber hard to run, it isnt, its just another game.
It shouldn't be too slow. In fact, this computer should be able to handle Battlefield 3 pretty well.

@Mik3469 actually to play on ultra the game exceeds 1gb of vram, i know this becuase i had a 5870 1gb having issues and went on forums to find out that you need more video memory because of the way frostbite 2 is designed. Dice said this themselves. Its not just the resolution that uses video memory its texture load and scenery as well.
@CJBoy2010 I swear to you, with this running on my big monitor and some Astro surround sound, I almost died from those G-Forces, it was insane.
@izaksek I well just might add that you can get 8GB ram for almost same price as 4GB, ram is cheap so get 8GB ram instead of 4, although game won't use more then 3GB (1GB for windows) other programs might use some ram as well so you may end up using like 4.5GB ram.Therefore not enough memory and game might shut. It's quite easy to prevent by simply closing some programs but that's the only noticable difference between 4GB and 8GB ram.
@Flashuploads ive read very poor reviwes about the 590, some reviews about graphic cards dont even include it, they go up to the 580, ive heard about several issues, heating etc.
@TheBlackIdentety Ok. here's the deal: I'm going to upgrade my comp. when ivy-bridge is released. However it seems I might need to upgrade my current PC a litte so I can play BF3 with the quality it deserves. I'm still going to try out ivy-bridge. The unendig delays with the ivy-bridge + the awesomeness of BF3 = Me spending more money than I had planed :)

Fall 2013.. Than they would announce it at e3 for sure but that they confirmed they will not do.. Late 2013 or sometime in 2014 sounds more correct. And by that time the nvidia 700 series might be out so there is big possibilty for a gtx 670 equal gpu.
I can't wait for the PS4, cause I'm tired of the fact that all console games look pretty good on console, but then looks fucking amazing on PC. The console games need more power.

I have an MSI 580 3gb OC'd to 858Mhz with an i7 920 OD'd to 3.2Ghz and i get between 45 - 60 FPS with vsync on at 1080p.
Obviously, i would love a constant 60fps, like you. Suggestions? I dont see how the i7 is being bottle-necked if im getting 60FPS at any time at all, you know?
@mcrbillytalent ur GPU is actually really good, its just that BF3 is hard to run @ 60 fps. ur sandy bridge CPU might be an old one. what processor u got?

lol I'm running on Ultra everything, and it's smooth as butter, I'd need to check FPS, but it looks absolutely gorgeous to me. i3, GTX 450, 4G RAM, no OC.
@izaksek There won't be almost any difference between 4Gb and 8Gb ram, you will run the game on Ultra with AA x16 and Antilising defender off. You will be getting about 45FPS on average and 30 FPS might be the lowest you can get.

@Flashuploads What? The card is $600, and DICE said that for 60fps at higher resolutions, especially above 1080p, you would need SLI 580's. I am fine with 30-60 fps.
Well if things play out how it sounds like they will play out, the next generation will be coming fall 2013, which means they have already begun making hardware decisions, in face hardware was probably decided on a little while ago. And something that is equivalent to the 670 in power is going to be $300 and up, a console will not have a $300+ gpu in it.
@mcrbillytalent nvm. ur CPU is good. so is ur GPU. as far as I know, if you want to run it in good settings, just put down the res (720p) and FOV (70) and AA and AF(1x). it seems to work for me, and i have worse specs than u. but no matter how low i put the settings, it never seems to run @ 60 fps 4 me. i guess its just the game. Put ur settings @ high and put down the res, fov, AA, and AF (like above), and u should get it running atleast at 40 fps. good luck :)
graphic card will still for ever the most expensive piece in a pc ;)

Sadly, the next-gen consoles coming in 2-3 years still won't look this good.
the graphics are great the only thing that bothers me are the lens flares, makes it look unrealistic

Single GTX 580 3gb - Jesus christ, imagine how a 590 would run this (Pretty much 2 580s welded together).

You forgot to maximize post-processing effects (motion blur).
@bresciamerda .... I Got An ATI Raedon 5850 5gddr and Battlefield On Ultra setting Slows down Just A Bit ... what could be The problem ?? On High it runs perfectly

@Minime637 Only 60? I know that's a lot, and more than that doesn't even matter, but sheesh for near 900$ I would expect more.

8gb of DDR3 in dual channel
evga nvidia 790i Ultra
and TWO evga gtx 560 Ti's
and on ultra settings @ 1080p i get 70 to 120fps on average singleplayer... and you only get 30 to 60??!!? with your setup!?? huh??!
Is you'r graphic card a GTX 580 Direct CU II? Really wanna know if it is stock gtx 580 or a high performance gtx 580 thanks :)

Yes because I built the PC for the sole purpose of Battlefield 3 and I only ever use it for Battlefield 3.
Is the game any better optimized since the beta? I didn't get very good fps in the beta:(
I have a 460m Graphics card and that's the only downside to my computer but its not upgrade-able:(.

The ps3 runs a 7800 gpu and that card was top end back in the days when ps3 released..
They will probarly throw in a top end gpu this time also equal to gtx 670s power!

Ok i have a 6970, 8 gigs of ram and a sandibridge 3.3 overclocked a bit to 3.5 (i can't get it to work properly) and i can't run 60fps on ultra. What am i doing wrong?
@Flashuploads Yeah 2 580's or a 590 will run this puppy at 60 fps.
i dont get it. im running a 2.13ghz duelcore with 4gb ram and a 8800gts. i can't even run it in low settings with almost the lowest resolution..

@SoulReaver9510 Google "system requirements lab" and do the test for BF3. If it passes, than you can run the game. Ultra is a different case and you will only really know if you try.
i have 6950 2gb and amd x4 965 3,6 ghz, will i get a decent amount of fps, and do you think would there be a difference between 4gb of ram and 8 gb ram?

@Flashuploads Above 60 FPS doesn't make that much difference to the human eye i think.

@thetenkayy I did some reading and people are getting around 30-40 on a 570 with everything maxed except for AA.
Its surprising, you need a 2.4GHz Dual Core from Intel but a Tri Core from AMD, which is weird. i have a Mobile AMD CPU that basically has the same architecture as intel's i5 and at a higher clock rate of 2.5GHz. you ask me, the Developer want people to switch over to Intel.
And PS3 and XBOX will never dominate PC

alright people might think this is a spam but i really have no other soultion so if everyone can help get this problem noticed/solved? i just got bf3 today, put 4 hours into the campaign then left (from battlenet) i clicked the launch campaign option again, but when i choose play campaign, my save file isn't there and it only shows me the option for starting a new campaign, any ideas on how i could get my save game and resume from where i left off?- (bf3 PC)

I can run bf3 on ultra without any problems or lagging at all, I dont know the exact fps but it runs really damn good with a gtx 560 ti 448 core and a i5 2500k. I havent tried multiplayer because it dosent work, I can play for about 1 minute but then it says that bf3 has stopped working :(
maybe a stupid q but wud the gpu memory double if i had a sli graphic card and each with 1gb???
@xximikeixx11 i thought peta didnt play video games because they are a bunch of housewives, isnt it funny you kill PEOPLE in battlefield 3. but yet to kill a rat is offensive. its amazing what the world is coming to.
im not a PC player or a compute wiz, but maybe you could try getting more RAM and/or a higher grade video card.
