What if you have someone who refuses to acknowledge they hurt you, not once but over and over, and who refuses to say they love you and are sorry? My sweet daughter has tried everything to reconcile differences between her and her dad,she took all the steps and wrote him a letter telling him how he had hurt her,but he refused to accept it! She tried to forgive him, but it is hard to forgive him when he doesn’t want to accept his responsibility of her pain! I try to guide her and help her, but she says she cannot ever forgive him! I don’t know what to do to help her! I think her problem is that she can’t get over the pain because he won’t say he hurt her or that he loves her! Imagine a young person with learning disabilities who has to face constant bullying from her own dad!

He sounds like my dad, who said, "he owes us nothing and did us nothing" but demands respect and we must take care of him because he's our father and old. This same father who abandoned us when we were little kids.
@@elisabethbenjamin2203 Firgive! Release yourself from this mental prison. Pour heaps of coals on his head by showering him with kindness.
Proverbs 25:21, 22 speaks to this, and to your reward for doing this.
What if you have been so deeply hurt by someone who refuses to acknowledge that they hurt you? What if you have gone through the steps of reconciliation by sending them a letter listing all the things they had done to you, but they accuse you of making it up? How do you forgive and reconcile with this person? My sweet daughter is hurting deeply because of abuse her father put upon her, and he will not say he is sorry, that he loves her, or that he did anything to her! She has tried over and over to get him to say he loved her and was sorry.
Pray fervently and keep you and your daughter safe. Forgive him when the Lord gives you strength to do so. Pray pray pray asking the Lord's will. You can not force someone to be sorry. Follow God's example. I will pray for you and your daughter right now! I am not from 3ABN, just a watcher, but both of us here in our house will pray for all 3 of you.
I understand. I wrote a list of all the things that I did to someone 3 times and vocally listed them 3 times for a total of six times, and still the person is demanding that I still say sorry for the said thing I already apologized for 6 times already.
But take comfort. God says come to me and confess your sins and I will remember it no more.
If for God once is enough, then I conclude that having apologized six times already, I have done more than enough.
Take comfort... before God and man, if you have done the requisite act of saying sorry, then you are free. Be free in your own mind, too.
I know of no scripture that says you need to apologize several times for the same thing. On the flip side, be ready to forgive multiple times.
This same person has me having to forgive them almost daily. The Bible says "...pray for those that despitefully use you".
So, keep praying!
