A good cartoon is one that can balance out serious moments with comedy. That's why I love Gravity Falls, Steven Universe and Avatar, they're one of the few shows that have that wonderful balance so it feels like I'm watching something worthwhile and not sitcom like garbage that clings to the status quo and doesn't go anywhere.
I feel that anything, cartoon or otherwise, that can balance the two correctly is something for the ages. (Star Wars, Most Superheroes, Everything you said, etc.)

The idea is that they need a straight-man to react to all the insanity happening in the show. That's often the key to purely comedic shows. However on TTG, they just don't have a leg to stand on, since they think that just mindlessly throwing random shit in your face counts as being funny.

I despise TTG. I really do, but it wasn't always so. When I first saw it, as a long time fan of Teen Titans, I acknowledged the change in direction; that the comedy would be more crude, the animations and storylines would be far simpler. I wanted to show my support at the very least and and find a new favorite show at best. Besides, as an adult who still finds pleasure in watching things like Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry over anything else, I can appreciate some childish humor, and that was all I expected out of TTG. Childish humor. What I got was a show making a almost desperate attempt to be funny in the hopes that it would not only attract new viewers, but bring back all the old. The comedy presented is spastic and random with no charm once so ever to give it the easy flow that I look for in all things; art, music, writing, people..... tv shows.
I think it's amazing how this was done by one guy and is better animated and has a closer art style to the original then the "professional" art directors and animators could manage to create at cartoon network.

It was unique at the time and would still hold up good now a days. This Go stuff, I watched 2 minuets of the first episode and turned it off.

Pretty much sums it all up. Sad thing is, the show is probably going to stay on air for a couple more years, mainly because its target audience needs a bit more time to figure out the poor... everything in the show (although I will admit some scenes in it are pretty funny. Like the Aquaboy and Raven's underwater date scene. Didn't see that one coming. Hey, got to give credit where credit is do to be fair). That, and it is probably pretty cheap to make as well, since it is all done in Flash. Ugh... and remember, THIS replaced Young Justice!

MrVegeta360 If it was made in Flash as well, then probably so. I never really had a problem with that show, though, since it was doing it's own thing. I never really watched it, though, other than a few episodes, so I can't really give an honest opinion about it. Not all Flash shows are bad, though. One of my personal favorite shows, made in Flash, is called 'Wakfu'. It's a French made cartoon, as well as a free MMO (A good one at that) that is all very well done. The beginning of the show starts out a little too fast, mainly the first two episodes, but other than that, it's a must watch. Give it a try if you want to see a Flash show done right. The latter episodes, from about the second half of the first season and on, gets REALLY good. And the show has one of the best villains I've ever seen, especially in recent years. Well, at least the first's season's main villain.
I have only watched the first few episodes, and to tell you the truth. It doesn't seem that bad. It's not that good, but it's not the worst thing on Cartoon Network "cough cough uncle grandpa cough".
Surprisingly, people seem to like the braindead UG more than TTG because "The animation's like Tex Avery". A show's animation does not count towards it's enjoyability.

I despise TTG. I really do, but it wasn't always so. When I first saw it, as a long time fan of Teen Titans, I acknowledged the change in direction; that the comedy would be more crude, the animations and storylines would be far simpler. I wanted to show my support at the very least and and find a new favorite show at best. Besides, as an adult who still finds pleasure in watching things like Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry over anything else, I can appreciate some childish humor, and that was all I expected out of TTG. Childish humor. What I got was a show making a almost desperate attempt to be funny in the hopes that it would not only attract new viewers, but bring back all the old. The comedy presented is spastic and random with no charm once so ever to give it the easy flow that I look for in all things; art, music, writing, people..... tv shows.

I think it's amazing how this was done by one guy and is better animated and has a closer art style to the original then the "professional" art directors and animators could manage to create at cartoon network.

Don't kid yourself. Yeah, the show's humor is immature and all that, but the same could be said about several kids shows these days like Fanboy and Chum Chum or Sanjay and Craig. Yet the hate TTG gets is far and away more loud and constant than any of those other shows. Why so much hate? It's not because TTG is so significantly worse than other contemporary kids shows, it's because it's not enough like the original show.

You nailed it James! Teen Titans was my favorite of the DC shows back when it was on the air because it was lighter atmosphere than the others but still had great episodes. It was unique at the time and would still hold up good now a days. This Go stuff, I watched 2 minuets of the first episode and turned it off.

In defense of the show (flame shields up), every once in a while we do get an episode that is so completely hilarious and witty that is makes one think "why can't the show be that good all the time?". Plus, as in most cases, the haters of Teen Titans Go! are still more annoying than the show itself.

Pretty much sums it all up.
Sad thing is, the show is probably going to stay on air for a couple more years, mainly because its target audience needs a bit more time to figure out the poor... everything in the show (although I will admit some scenes in it are pretty funny. Like the Aquaboy and Raven's underwater date scene. Didn't see that one coming. Hey, got to give credit where credit is do to be fair). That, and it is probably pretty cheap to make as well, since it is all done in Flash.
Ugh... and remember, THIS replaced Young Justice!

MrVegeta360 If it was made in Flash as well, then probably so. I never really had a problem with that show, though, since it was doing it's own thing. I never really watched it, though, other than a few episodes, so I can't really give an honest opinion about it.
Not all Flash shows are bad, though. One of my personal favorite shows, made in Flash, is called 'Wakfu'. It's a French made cartoon, as well as a free MMO (A good one at that) that is all very well done. The beginning of the show starts out a little too fast, mainly the first two episodes, but other than that, it's a must watch.
Give it a try if you want to see a Flash show done right. The latter episodes, from about the second half of the first season and on, gets REALLY good. And the show has one of the best villains I've ever seen, especially in recent years. Well, at least the first's season's main villain.
Absolute gold, more so than any TTG episode could ever hope to be.
I have only watched the first few episodes, and to tell you the truth. It doesn't seem that bad. It's not that good, but it's not the worst thing on Cartoon Network "cough cough uncle grandpa cough".
Surprisingly, people seem to like the braindead UG more than TTG because "The animation's like Tex Avery". A show's animation does not count towards it's enjoyability.
Uncle Grandpa is miles funnier then Teen Titans. Probably because it has an excuse for being insane and you would expect that from it.
