Having this happen in the region where Arrow Dynamics was born seems a sad epilogue. Their second location where several iconic Disneyland rides were designed has already been overbuilt. Let's hope the original location in Mt. View can remain as a historical landmark.

I work for CGA and I can tell you a few things. There's definitely going to be ride moves but the parks lease can be renewed more than 11 years from insider information. ALSO the park may not be torn down, the city of Santa Clara has cherished this park since the beginning and always will, the mayor even worked there when it was Marriott's Great America. Also a park chain like sea world may buy the park from Prologis or Santa Clara if Santa Clara buys it. I believe this because 310 million is not the value of the land, its much much higher. Also the zoning laws of the land can be forced to stay as a theme park zone. The park my lose rides but it may yet be saved.

Lol..The city has no recourse, Prologis owns the land & CF has been paid. The agreement for the purchase is in CF's 8-k, try reading it. The lease is for 6 yrs at 12.2M/yr with a 2.5% increase per year. There is an option for a 5yr extension. It's not really in CF's interest to keep leasing with the high cost(when they leased from the city it was 7 to 8M/yr), this is way more & gets higher yearly. CGA is not a highly profitable park, has the worst revenue to EBIDTAS in the chain. Prologic can terminate the lease at any time with 2 years notice. The 310M for the land is way more than the park is worth if operated, they tried to selling before for just 70M a decade ago ,they paid150M for the land in 2019. No other chain, ie..SEAS is buying it, it would take forever to get their money back. CF sold the land b/c it would take more than a decade to get that same profit via operations. It was a price too good for CF to turn down. Cedar Fair owns/ have rights to all assets so a purchaser would have to pay Prologic more than 310M for the land, they would want more than they paid. Then, a purchaser would than have to buy the rides, buildings, etc for CF, that would be like 80M or more or they would have to build from scratch, which would be even more costly. CGA is done, it's not being saved

7:01 The inflated price of wood may actually help Gold Striker get a new home because it would cost less to relocate Gold Striker than it would to build a coaster from scratch with new wood, though I agree that the only safe coaster is Lucy's Crabbie Cabbies and the rest of them might be scrapped. Gold Striker could also be bought by either Knoebels or Silverwood.

    Operations/line:
GOLDSTRIKER: almost always runs two trains (never seen it with only 1) line moves pretty quick, the wait will be like 50 minutes + if you see people outside the entrance though. assigned seating is never really an issue so i recommend asking for the back few rows for best experience.
FLIGHT DECK: runs 2 trains roughly 60% of the time, line moves at an ok speed. most of the time you can make a request for a row but if it is crowded then probably not.
RAILBLAZER: go through the fast lane line and say that you are a single rider, and you will get on within 0-15 minutes if you are near the station. the regular line is always at least an hour so riding as a single rider is much quicker. back seat is the best and you can usually request a row.
PATRIOT: Runs two trains roughly 50% of the time, line is usually pretty small. but the ops are always slow on this ride for whatever reason,
DEMON: The line moves pretty slow and roughly runs two trains 30% the time. if there is people somewhat near the entrance at all then line is 1hour +
PSHYCO MOUSE: the line moves slower than a snail and i am not kidding, if there is more than 20 people in line then line is 5hrs +
    GRIZZLY: go ride Goldstriker instead

I think Demon would make sense for Gilroy Gardens if they were continuing to partner. If you have a park that isn't interested in putting effort into expanding then this would be the easiest way to give them their first thrill coaster.
If it weren't for the tight financial situation Cedar Fair is in I think this would be a great way to plus up their ignored parks. We all know Cedar Point, Carowinds, Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland will get big investments regardless of what was happening with CGA. So why not use this as a cheap way to draw attention to parks that would otherwise continue to be ignored? However, since they're still recovering from COVID I can easily see them using these rides to continue to stack their favored parks while saving on the cost of new installations.

I told the head about great America closing at that they should go after gold striker, demon, or psycho mouse as judging by geauga lake those were the kinds of rides left behind when they closed. They called up gci to get a quote on moving gold striker since they were the ones who built it. They said "Cedar fair has no interest in parting with gold striker but would be interested in parting with the other wooden coaster on the property" so idk what this means but that sounds like they have a plan to move it. Take it with a grain of salt but it sounds possible that it will be moved. Just the fact that gci has been talking to cedar fair ar all means they are planning somthing. Keep in mind the very high price of lumber makes moving a wooden coaster more economical than building a new one.

I mean let's look at geauga lake. Nobody wanted to develop the property because of the massive amount of buildings and rides left on the property, same deal with jazz land they can't do anything with it because the price of removing all the rides and coasters makes it economical, same with Chippewa lake they tried to build a resort on the property then found out half way through it was too much money and work to remove the rements of the old park.

I guess my guy was interested in it but did research on it and figured the ride was too outdated to invest the time to move. But gci did ask about demon and psycho mouse to see if they were selling it and it was a no on both of them also. Patriot could be moved Six Flags St. Louis as they have only one B&M, which is a Batman clone. That, or send it to La Ronde as a replacement for Super Manége. I’m not sure what name they would give at St. Louis, but at La Ronde I imagine it’ll be called Vipére (the name of the Intamin ZacSpin that used to operate as Green Lantern First Flight at Magic Mountain before being moved to La Ronde, only for it to get cancelled after being delayed indefinitely due to COVID).

Hundred percent agree on Railblazer (if it can be moved). It's a way to make up for the unexpected loss of Volcano, and there's nothing like it at Busch Gardens. My best guesses...
Demon: Scrapped for parts to keep other Arrows in the chain alive. I can't see any way this one survives.
Flight Deck: Most likely scrapped. While technically possible to relocate, the age of the ride and the cost of modifying it for flat terrain likely make doing so impractical from a financial standpoint.
Gold Striker: As much as I hate to say it, I don't see it as very likely the structure of this ride gets saved. Instead, I think it's much more likely Cedar Fair will reuse the trains and mechanical components on a new GCI at a different park (Carowinds or Cedar Point).
Grizzly: Another that I'm absolutely certain is a goner. It's not worth the cost of relocation.
Lucy's Crabbie Cabbies: I could maybe see two or three Cedar Fair parks that could benefit from this, but I see that option as unlikely. Instead, I expect it to go up on the used ride market and be sold to a FEC or small park.
Patriot: Unlike Flight Deck, I think this one may live on elsewhere as it's on mostly flat terrain and is probably in better shape despite being two years older. I don't think Cedar Fair is likely to keep it (though they could gift it to Michigan's Adventure), but despite its size it'd make a pretty sweet addition to a smaller park looking for a signature coaster.
Psycho Mouse: I'm pretty skeptical of the Cedar Point relocation rumor, but I'm not skeptical about this surviving. Like the previous couple, this seems like a prime candidate for the used rides market.
RailBlazer: If there is one coaster I'm very confident Cedar Fair will keep, it's this one. I could see it pop up at any of the smaller Cedar Fair parks (Dorney Park, Michigan's Adventure, Valleyfair, or Worlds of Fun), but given the maximum capacity is about what most major coasters can do with one train operations, it would be foolhardy to put it anywhere bigger.
Woodstock Express: This is the hardest one to call, as it came to the park used and could easily be shipped off to a third home. However, given the age of the ride and the terrain aspects of it, I'm more inclined to say it gets scrapped.
