Just ordered a Mini thirty, can't wait for the call to pick it up. I wonder what experience you have had using steel cased ammo. RUclips is full of different test results and opinions.
Havent had issues ... honest truth. I wouldnt worry about it. But that being said the anvil style primers in Russian ammo willl once in a while see what appears as a light hammer strike when it is isn't. it is the primer requiring a harder hit. A Ruger American Ranch bolt action once in a great while with steel case wont fire on the first strike but does on the second strike and that is a rare occurrence anyway. haven't had issue with that in the mini-30. And as a side note my Mini-14 in 5.56/.223 has had zero issues with steel case and in fact has been pretty much all I shoot in it.
Until November 2022 I lived in New Jersey. I now live in Virginia But as a new jersey gun owner for 45 years I was always aware of public opinion in an antigun state like New Jersey a guns appearance could come into play if used in a self-defense situation. If i used a rifle in self-defense and was charged with a crime it should not matter but it could so I used a wood stocked mini 14 i would give up little in performance versus an ar 15 especially at home defense distances.
I like the wood stick, straight clips just so it doesn’t look tactical. I’ll stick to iron sights. Probably shoukd quit shooting if I need more than that. 🤣 they’re beautiful guns. Mini-30 is on my wish list. (Santa, I have been good all year!)
Great video, bud. I do the same with mine no editing Keep it nice and raw if I mess up or do something funny at least I'm not the only one entertained lol.
Not yet, no. Seems to run fine. Ive seen other RUclips vids where theyve had no issues as well. maybe it is for specific years? Older models? I dunno ...
Update Just got a new stainless mini thirty, poor quality in every respect. The only reasonably smooth surface on this gun is the stock. I liked the idea of the similarity to the M1 and never actually held the mini thirty before I ordered. The fishing sinkers I cast in my basement are better quality then the castings in this gun. I can't imagine that this gun was inspected at all before it left the factory. First and last Ruger I ever buy. I paid $1K for this gun. I feel like sawing the receiver in half throwing it away
Great shotgun ... Im seriously thinking about the ATI tactical stock for it with adjustable stock. Or finding a slightly shorter stock. it really is one of the best shotguns to own in that price range, very happy with it but I go to other ones more comfortable for me.
Yes I do to. I bought 2 of the Blu Line 870 clones from ClassicFirearms. Love the Maverick but it just doesn’t fit me right. I bought the MagPul tactical stocks for the 870 clones. Much better.
@@joelbabcock2952 Interest, the Blueline is also the H&R Pardner 1871 Security 870 clone. Same exact parts and same manufacturer in China. Same price range as well. I bought one and still shoot it, great shotgun, agreed.
Exhalent realistic video thank you your a very rair man
Ruger should hire you best mini 30/14 video on the web. You made my day brother
Thanks and thank you for watching ... we are shooting in the morning and the Mini-14s will get a workout!
I agree 💯 about the Maverick 88

Right on lol.
Any issues shooting the steel cased ammo out of the Mini-30?

Sorry to hear that, there was zero issues with fit and finish on this one. Better luck on your next purchase from a different company. Cheers.
100% on the Maverick. Hard for me to get comfortable with that pump.

It is Ron Spomer.
