According to the BUICK MANUAL the new key must be inserted into the exterior door and turned to the UNLOCK position 5 times. Thanks for posting this, very handy.
Thanks for this!...but...Warning to anyone who does not have Keyless Entry system on their Buick...if you attempt this method of programming, and you activate the exterior door lock 5 times, you may arm and set off the car alarm system!!! LOL thats what happened to me. Very embrassing since I could not immediately figure out how to stop the alarm. My Regal does not have keyless entry/push button start, but my Owners Manual still gives this method for programming the key fob! I found the correct method via another youtube video. Just insert your good key, and start the car. Then remove it, and insert the new fob...start the car. Its that simple...the fob is now fully programmed!
I have to get new key fobs for my 2011 Buick Lacrosse, and I have not been able to find a video on how to program the push to start fobs. I'm going to try these instructions once i get mine because I do think this will work the same for my vehicle. Thanks!!
WARNING - I have a 2014 Lacrosse and did the first part of the process, just to see if it worked on later models. I turned the key to the left in the handle 5 times and, sure enough, the "ready for key fob 3" popped up. But I hadn't received my new fob yet, so I just dismissed the message. After that, the car would not attempt to start. It apparently was stuck in the programming mode. So, I drove my other car to lunch and when I came back, the programming mode had timed out and the car started normally. So, be aware, if you need to drive the car somewhere, don't do this on a whim or you'll sit there for a while.
Did you try this and your car got stuck in learning/programming mode? Do the does unlock but car wont start from the remote? Solution: press and hold the start button for 12 seconds then car will reset out of learning mode. Then start you car regularly
I have a 2011 buick lacrosse and watched your video and steps 2 with the key in the door lock with the display indicating a #4 so I assumed that my new fob was the forth one to be programmed. But when I completed your steps not only did my new fob not work but now my original does not work. I am stranded!!!!
I did this to a 2014 buick verano and it work, but after I tried it showed no keys detected so I disconnected my battery cable for a few minutes after I put the cable back both keys work
Thought I might have a bad fob but issue continues. Randomly my 2012 GS with manual transmission will not start. Message displays press clutch to start. I have replaced the clutch switch and problem remains the same. Under this no start condition I can jump the solenoid or relay and the engine will crank but not start. If I keep trying maybe after 20-30 tries if will start and run perfect. Not sure what to try next.
It didn’t work for me because I don’t have the new key cut, so I can’t turn the new key into the unlock position five times. I did with my original key and the new fob locks and unlocks but won’t start the car. Thanks for the video. I found my Manuel, and it says you have to turn the new key 5 times. I have a 2014 Buick regal GS.
I just did the new key works and remote starts but seem to still be in learning mode and will not start with brake petal and push start. It may start after it times out. Will see. You run into this problem after programming yours?
Ik this is old but i’m trying rn and hope u respond i did this and was able to lock and unlock and do all the functions on the fob but once entering the car it will say no key detected any way to fix this?
I tried this and now my sister original key’s knocked out😢. I feel so bad, I didn’t have chance to press start because the message came up asking for key fob 3. It unlock, lock but will not start.
You forgot to tell how you can get the key to the door because it doesn't show you where to put the key ,,,,there's little whole the bottom of the hand door,,hold the door handle like you opening it hold it and put the key that whole while your hand holding open the handle and it should come off easily,,,you can do this only if you dont see your key on the door handle,,,,most Buicks the key is open but Chevy might not be open key
Did it step by step accidentally put the Un-programmed key in the holder an absolutely lobotomized my car it won’t detect either key 💀💀💀💀 don’t do what I did hoping this message finds you well
My husband was just stranded right now and I found your video and you get our car started thank you so much for the video

Thanks what I had to do but now that’s all the fob do is lock/unlock. The original will not start the car. I feel terrible, this my sis car.

If this happens just disconnect the battery and it'll go back to normal
Push and hold start button 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

My keyless 2011 doesn’t have a key space under the rubber cup holder. I wonder where it is on this model

This worked for my 2012 LaCrosse Touring. The instructions I received with the key were different and did not work.

Hey Rich, I would double check the battery to make sure it's still good. If it is, try reprogramming the fob to the car again.
Hey from where do u get the chrome around the vents
Does it work with buick lacrosse
i see alot of comment the do not have the flip key...only the key fob...not the same technique. you gotta find the right car for the right fob
I tried this and now my sister original key’s knocked out😢. I feel so bad, I didn’t have chance to press start because the message came up asking for key fob 3. It unlock, lock but will not start.
Thanks buddy
Mine doesn’t have that
Will this work on buick verano 2015
I believe it should as long as you already have a working keyfob
@@gsxss3741 I don't. I didn't want to spend 84 bucks, but owe well.
Twist it which way? Clockwise or Counterclockwise ? Lock or unlock...I'd imagine this is important.
Looks like he did it counterclockwise
What if you lost your keys and went and bought a new key fob from dealership?
how much did the key cost??
Tried it and now none of my keys work
Did you buy this key online and it came with the steps ?
Hey Gabriel, I purchased the key online. Written instructions did come with it.
