You make me very happy! Educating people about ticks. Lyme disease is a very real thing. About 500,000 people come down with Lyme disease each year. I was infected at my job which was walking through the woods surveying. I am now totally disabled .
Had the same issue with the now short stabilizers on my now 4" lifted Chalet A-frame. My simple solution was a trip to Wal Mart. Picked up four 6" hard plastic furniture risers for a few bucks. They nest together when not in use and work perfectly on the round feet of the stabilizers. Glad to see you back out on the road.
I love your little camper. Always appreciate your tips. I must say I think you have a good narrator's voice. Lovely area where you were camping. Bless.
Thanks for the traveling memories. As a former Eco-Tourism operator I traveled extensively throughout North America. I am now letting the sun set on me in the Philippines and love your content Slim. Brings back so many memories, but one I don't need is the Black Flies memory. 😜
Been checking then and now, thinking you were travelling, and nice to suddenly find a new video! Lovely spring views! As soon as I saw that water between the grass, my mind said "tadpoles"🤓
I strongly dislike having to book everything on line and what’s up with that $6.50 fee! Robbery !! Your video was outstanding as usual. I love spring exploring, you can really see the lay of the land! Hope you come and explore Wisconsin!
Great video as always. That's a great fix on the stabilizers. You're such a handy guy. Good of you to share with others. Beautiful campgrounds. I definitely agree on the charge to reserve. Plus what gets me is the $7 a night for electric, doesn't matter the size of the rig, or how many ppl. They get you coming and going. Maybe salamanders. Looking forward to your next adventure.🙂👍
Another Slim masterpiece, always the inventor. You’re right with regard to making an opinion, only having been somewhere once. I imagine Summer and Autumn are just as beautiful, it would be nice to see all seasons 🌈
I travel by bicycle and the new reservation systems are a real pain. I pretty much have to call in when I get to a camping area because I can't absolutely predict that I will get there. Anything from strong head winds to road closures to flat tires and I'm off any schedule. At state parks there will usually be a twenty four hour place I can call. County parks have to be called during business hours. Here in MN, if I arrive under my own power, I generally a spot available at a state park if I meet certain times and conditions. I cycled the north shore circle route from Thunder Bay Ontario to Sault ste. Marie last june 2022. On the MN north shore section, it was Memorial Day weekend. I could have shown up at the campgrounds and been allowed to stay one night. However, the weather was really, cold, rainy and windy so people were canceling their weekend plans. The lousy weather saved my vacation!
I like your videos, the variety of topics and solutions. I wish you a long and healthy life. Here are 3 suggestions for a long and healthy life. 1. Always wash the top of your beer cans with non stream and non lake water. 2. Only buy food containing ingrediences with less than 1 square inch. 3. View and incorporate healthy food and supplement videos.
Hi Slim, welcome to PA! I love our state parks and campgrounds but agree with you about the rules and regs. Campgrounds with facilities cost more, but I can take the senior discount, which most of the time cancels out the $6.50 reservation fee.
I have those Atwood stabilizers, too. One trick I learned for getting them snug- when setting up, jack the nose down about a half bubble on the level, set the stabilizers, the raise the nose to level. Snug.
Hope you make it to NC this trip. It is a glorious time of year with all the azaleas, dogwoods and rhododendrons in bloom. Depending where in the state you are. Starts in the east and moves west with time.
Slim I really enjoyed your video. My friend and I just got our July camping trip trip reservations setup this week at Selkirk camp ground near Winnepeg Manitoba. I really enjoy your videos Slim. Tim H
I have lived on the Eastern US (a few hours from the coast so I stopped saying East Coast) for decades now and am familiar with the staging of seasonal changes as you move higher in altitude and in latitude. The redbud was in its hay day just a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised (shouldn’t have been) to see Northern New Hampshire still in the infancy of this spring. Was it because I am in the smokies? Well, sure but not really. I realized, because I was surprised by my surprise, that I drive up to Vermont and New Hampshire each spring. Driving, I pass through the changes as I go so that I am mentally at the correct stage when I arrive. Your photography is so good that details didn’t escape and it was clear that thing were quite a few stages behind me. Well…DUH! As Homer Simpson and my then teenage daughter would say. My father was a machinist and when things would break or operated suboptimally then dad would fix or make something that would take the entire tool and advance its capabilities and ease of use. When I was putting hand controls on my (now late) husband’s truck, one of the bars was short and unstable. I was going to have to take it to a machinist and that was going to be expensive. It wasn’t!!! I might have cost me $30 but because of the nature of the device, they wouldn’t take money for it. Now, you have it resolved and you know better than anyone how well it will hold against gravity, should you ever park on a slope. I don’t ever see that happening but tossing out theoretical anyway. If you have to beef it up, talk to a machinist. He will make an extension out of very strong metal that will be welded on and hold for the life of the stabilizer. Just an FYI. Or something
Info on ticks. The don't go down. Get a tick on your finger. Let it start to crawl. Turn you hand upside down and watch what happens. It's not a fashion statement, but tuck your pants into your socks. Your top into your pants. Now you only have to focus on arms and neck with bug spray.
wow loved the varmints in the gel like fluid.. I've had tadpoles on my pool cover years ago when I used to cover the pool for winter...water would collect on top of the cover over the winter, then frogs in the spring sooo loud at night I actually had to go out and tell them to hush sometimes, then eggs, then tadpoles, then baby frogs, and birds feasting on the tadpoles b4 frogs sprouted.. a real eco system right in my own back yard...your babies looked more like salamanders to me... thanks for the new vid... safe travels
that is the one thing I did not like about traveling in the east from about Kansas east is the black flies. My rig changed color while driving back there. I don't know if I will ever go back again to the eastern part of the USA, my promise to the eastern states
Come to Northern Nevada before it gets HOT! The wild flowers are beautiful, the wild horses are plentiful along Highway 50, which runs east to west across the US. Lake Tahoe and the Sierra’s are just west of here. Lovely!
Not a bad channel you got here Slim! Not bad at all. God's earth can be beautiful, so thank you for exploring it for the peeps that cant afford it. :) ~ Vancouver BC ~ Chinada.
We had heavy snow again this week in Wisconsin. Today's rain is melting that and my boondocking lot is now green, I hope that I and the Scamp will be out of hibernation by May first. Yes the bugs are already out.
I was born and raised in Pa. and loved the mountain laurel (state flower). A bit to early for that maybe. So many beautiful places to see in Pa. I lived along the Susquehanna river. Nice place to kayak. Thanks, enjoyed the video! ❤
You need to head down to Jim Thorpe, PA. Its a beautiful town with a rich history. You’ll have to camp at a camp ground tho. Used to be a decent KOA over by Mauch Chunk lake. Great lake to kayak on - no motors allowed. I grew up and wen to college in NE PA. Beautiful area! Can tour a coal mine as well In Lansford PA which is about 20 mins from Jim Thorpe. Enjoy and thanks for such wonderful videos!
I love to see your life in Canada, you are truly blessed Mr Slim - Please keep up making really interesting videos - lots of Love from British Expats in Spain - until the next one take care!
Welcome to my home state! The 6.50 charge drives us nuts as well but it's forgotten when you're sitting outside your Aliner in an awesome campsite. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
Hey Slim. I realized quickly that I may find locations that didn't allow my stabilizers to reach the ground. I didn't even thing of cutting and jury rigging them as you did. What I did, I went to Lowe's and bought a 2x6, and had it cut into 12 inch lengths. I have plenty to stack on each stabilizer, and a couple left over for the tongue jack. An additional benefit that I can see, it will spread the weight around to a larger footprint, if I find myself in soft soil. I'm towing with a Chevy Colorado, and have plenty of room and cargo weight capacity to stow them in a tub in the bed.
I wanna be like Slim when I grow up!
Me too! 😊
You mean when you grow old?😂
@@virksaab9454 That's one of those things you can debate.
Don't we all
Me and my partner are certainly working on it we even have a trillium.
I love the white mountains
"At least the trailer is stable, I don't know about me" -Slim 🤣😂🤣
Not being sure where you're going, but just going. Best feeling in the world.
Thumbs up before watching it
Me too....xx n
i think the youtube algorithm weighs thumbs up deeper into or at the end of videos more.
@@folonrng That's never proven
I am a amazed how you learn so quickly to fix things. That is a sign of intelligence to me.😊
Glad to see you are out and about, Slim. I look forward to more of your excellent videos! ♥️🙏🏼🐾🙏🏼♥️
Glad to see ya slim, safe travels!
It's always good to see you in the woods, Slim. And thanks for the shout out for the pollinators!

Have a good time Slim! BTY: What's for dinner ? Always enjoy seeing what concoction you come up with. Take car and drive safe.
Slim glad to see you out! Please come to the beautiful Hocking Hills in Ohio, part of the foothills of the Appalachians. You won’t be disappointed!

Fablous very well done video. Very enjoyable and relaxing to watch.
Don’t need a kayak to feel the pain at the gas pump these days. Safe travels!!
Have fun on your adventures Slim. Keep the good stuff coming.
Road traveling is so exilerating and fun! Did a few runs and happy to be watching from my home. Making a place for nomads to park when in Mo.
Enjoy thats a good site been there twice. My favorite site there is #8

I can't tell you how many years I have noticed how extremely early in spring do i find ticks. From Michigan.
We camped in the Poconos there in PA growing up. So many good memories.🏕

You know when you talked about washer fluid frozen up. You can add a small bottle of gas line antifreeze to your resovour and that really helps
Thanks Slim for the video. Keep them coming great job
