Was Rahul Gandhi right on claims about no compensation to slain Agniveer's family?

How much did the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar who died in a landmine blast in January 2024 get as compensation? @sneheshphilip explains in #DefenceScope as the political slugfest continues.

Government paying compensation to a slained soldier's family is one thing and receiving insurance money through SBI account schemes and army benifits schemes is quite an other thing. Both aren't the same. Infact, the benifit of these schemes are provided to all jawans of the "Agniveer" program, irrespective of whether they're dead or alive. This means that if the "Agniveer" jawan is alive even after completion of the 4 years period and then doesn't continue in the army and retires instead, then that jawan will receive the same benefits just like the one that has been slained. And the slained "Agniveer" jawan doesn't get any such benefits and honours that is provided and accorded to the regular jawans, if they are slained. This is because, simply due to the fact that the regular jawans are bestowed with "Shaheed" status, whereas "Agniveer" jawans are not. And there are a lot of compensations, benifits, perks and privileges that come along with a jawan that has been bestowed with "Shaheed" status.

What was paid was insurance money. It was not compensation by the central govt. You are calling Ajay Kumar's father liar.

Who pays Insurance? Was he your father.
Everything goes as per procedure. If you are not in Agneevir you won't get even if you die.

@@lph.abhinaham77 Why are you so dumb sir? Insurance premium is paid from the agniveer's salary. All govt employees have it. Regular army jawans (not agniveer) get govt. money over and above the insurance. Is this discrimination valid?
