We bought 18 acres of raw land and are developing it from scratch to create our dream home and homestead! I framed our home from the ground up and it’s time to continue bringing utilities directly to the house!
This week I’m installing our well pump! This is saving us $3000! I got the pump for free which saves another $2000! And I got to finish off the week with an insanely refreshing artesian spring bath!
This bideo covers:
- drilling a hole into the well casing
- installing a pitless adapter
- installing poly tube and the well pump
- wiring a 4-wire pump with a control box/control panel

I'd love to try it.
I'm in Florida so it doesn't get cold often but whenever the Temps hut 40s I jump in a creek. Any other time I put a few bags of ice into a cattle trough and I plunge for 30 min
Add ice ,I do it everyday

What an emotional filled video.
I watched you drink your water, knowing you were going to do that and said, yep, that’s my daughter. And then I watched you climb into the tub and thought, no way! I would have heated up the water first with a kettle and my Bluetti and then I would have jumped in and soaked in all the beauty. So glad you took that moment. Loved seeing your emotion of accomplishment. If you don’t listen to your body, it’ll make you listen. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. Beyond proud of you. ❤

Biata, the Jane of all trades. I have been watching from day one and it has been so pleasurable to watch you adapt and overcome. You have stood steadfast. adapted, and overcame all obstacles as they came up. Your work ethic and determination has done well for you and look what you have done. Yes take a little time each day and appreciate what you have accomplished. I grew up in northern Maine where most lakes are spring water fed so even in August it is a freezing cold plunge. LOL. Biata you are just awesome. You tackle it all and you take care of what needs to be done.
You looked so relaxed when you got into your tub and it was like, I’ve really done it. Your videos are so good and it’s hard to believe that you have had no training to do all of this, from dropping the trees to pouring the foundation to putting up walls and installing a roof and finally getting to sit in your tub in the sunshine and just relax for a while.
Another week goes by and I will watch the video several times waiting for your next one.

Another way to remember how to wrap the tape is it should be wrapped in the same direction that you turn the fitting to tighten it.😊

Our well pump for our garden irrigation is permanently accessible. We dug a hole big enough for four stacked concrete rings, so we have kind of a shaft going down about 2 meters, diameter about 1 meter. There is a concrete lid on top. If you open it, you can go down into it, at the floor is the pipe of the well. There you can take the pump out without having to do any digging. Down there it never freezes.
Very cool! sounds like a dug well! We tried to do that to save money but we're on bedrock!

Using black tape to tape the wire to the black pipe every 3’ is a good idea. Normally this is done. 😊

Biata, you performed what you say is the hardest part of this build with distinction! I bet that was exciting for your daughter to get off the bus for the first time at where she will be living in her new house. 😊 I cannot believe you got into your tub with that cold water. 🥶🤣
Installing teflon tape. As you are looking directly at the item you want to put teflon tape onto, install the tape in the same direction you would be installing a screw. "Leftie Loosie, Rightie Tightie" So install the tape clockwise or "Rightie Tightie"

Nice to see you back at it and hope your on your way to a full recovery. A little tip for you as when you use a hole cutter if it's not concrete then don't need the hammer function on just use it as a drill and you'll find it will cut soooooo much better. Hammer function is for drilling into concrete or stone or tiles only. Big hugs to one and all xx

Always wrap Teflon tape in the same direction as if you were tightening a nut on the threads.
