Naoki deserves more praise after every way he try to get his work back on track, such as for CROSSxBEATS and another indie project that both come to failure, I respect him. Knowing that music carreer is willing to pull lots of risk.

@@Raven1015 Who knows Andamiro will plan to bring back old PIU songs from the first two games just like DDR X3 vs 2ndMIX back in 2011? I can't tell if they're willing to give us the classics. (What they did was the original Black Cat by Turbo in XX)

I have not known the history of pump until last year, but watching through Brianho's retrospective-playthrough of the entire pump series, makes me apprechiate the details in this BGA.
While inspired by another reference heavy Rhythm game song BGA, it still has alot of chart from Pump.
While the song BGA referencing Hypnosis and Ignition Starts have been picked up on (the first two original Banya songs for pump),
I wonder if people recognized the pentagonal tunnel and guy dancing on stage are also references, to the "generic Background for Remixes" from 1st and 2nd Dancefloor, respectively.
Even both song selects from the time are present. (4 songs on screen, and 2 songs on screen + shift to previous/next 2 songs)
Kinda sad that the songs had to be blured due to licensing.
There's probably more, but this these are some really nice references to early pump versions.

I truly feel this is a masterpiece of rhythm game music composition. It really shows that Naoki Maeda is a master of his craft and that his experience is unparalleled. How he sets up the tone, plays with rhythm patterns, builds up the speed, has that fake climax to play with expectations... It really understands what makes an arcade dance game song memorable and executes it flawlessly. This is my favorite Naoki song, and I've been a fan since DDR 3rd remix. I love it.

Somehow it gives me more of a "PARANOiA Revolution" vibe than "CHAOS" itself. Then again, I don't think there's a BGA for CHAOS.

i think they would just want to name it like "PARANOiA phoeniX" or "the legend of the phoenix (max) " .. but in the end they use chaos instead in order to avoid clash with konami

I don’t think it’s a direct sequel to the original CHAOS as Naoki did not use the DE-SIRE alias, but he did this under Naoki Underground - Ω - alias.
I can see he’s combining the hard & rough sounds of Ω, and the dark, melodic vibe of Naoki Underground (think of tokyoEvolved or osakaEvolved)

I know I'm going to be the minority on this one, but I definitely didn't care for this song as much as I hoped because I loved Chaos on DDR. Obviously, this is different, but the beat, the speed up, it's just kind of lacking for me, there's not much going on in this song at all. I'm sure the charts will be good, hopefully.
True, the og chaos is absolute fire and I was expecting more of this
because Naoki has had an identity crisis since leaving Konami and has made nothing but mid songs with nostalgic song titles that have no relation to the originals
Chaos Again is literally my favorite new song in Phoenix. But I also think Chaos on DDR is a below mid song, so maybe our tastes are a bit different 😅
