uuuh... there are two webbing loops at the bottom of the v1 that you can make yourself a handle of any size you want. Perfect place for paracord handles rather than spend $400 on a new pack. I also wonder about the rationale for a second padded pocket in the V2. Who carries a laptop AND an ipad in the wilderness? I actually never carry either and have cut off the padded pocket on the flap to reduce bulk. My biggest gripe with the X50 V1 has not been addressed in the X50 V2 - the wimpy undersized hip belt. The X70 belt fits in the X50 and is absolutely perfect and much more comfortable.
@@GroovyGeek color is actually a big chunk of the reason. I live and work in areas where extended time in 100+ degree temps happen regularly. Both the black & green got very hot whereas the yellow stays a bit cooler. Also, I use these bags more in non-wilderness situations than in wilderness situations. I’m regularly having to carry a wide variety of gear on my back to easily get in/out of spaces where roller bags don’t make sense while needing a variety of tech for data management and redundancy. Yea.. the bag gets heavy but it gets the job done. I’m also a huge fan of swapping the extra padded straps from the x70 on it when needed as well.
