  • G-d first created the mystical Sefirot - 10 divine channels through which His infinite light could be condensed, contracted, and then released as individualized attributes that could eventually give rise to a diversity of finite creations.
    Let’s go through them one by one.
    This video was produced for Lesson 4 of How Success Thinks, a course by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute.

    This is literally the best video I've seen explaining the Sefirot. Every video I see are of people who basically say a lot of nothing about it. They say what it is but they don't explain it, they don't give examples, they don't show the flow. Great job.

    Finally, an explanation that makes sense. I've looked at some other videos for basic intro to the sephirot and this is the first one that is clear and makes sense.

    chochmah, binah, and daas compose all the levels of intellect, the other seven are emotional attributes which are a direct result of cognition. The seven emotions relate to the seven days of creation, chesed is sunday, gevurah is Monday, and so on.....
    look at the book of tanya chapter 3 for more insight.

    Why does this enumeration start with Chokmach instead of Kether?

    • @kheperael1104
      @kheperael1104 5 лет назад +30

      Because Kether supercedes the ability to affect us. It is transcendent

      This video uses a model of Kabbalah that is more in line with Hasidic teaching. It's a more psychological model, so the very lofty, supernal Keter has descended as Daat. It's still present, but in a way that can be talked about and studied. This is why many people call Daat a "pseudo-sfirah" because it's really not a sfirah at all, it's kind of a place holder.

    • @jwmberkowitz
      @jwmberkowitz 4 года назад +14

      You might notice that there are 11 circles at the beginning. That's a poor choice, in my opinion, because it gives the appearance of their being 11. Sefer Yetsirah is VERY adamant that there are 10 and not 11, 10 and not 9, etc.

    This is actually pretty good introductory vid. It may serve viewers to check out Drukama. Drukama is a tradition that teaches the deeper meaning of the unification and creation process. There's very deep applications to it in practice that go beyond just watching a lecture but in any case have a look, I've found it to be pretty good. Be well all!

      Sefirot is actually alternatively transliterated into English as sephirot/sephiroth.
      So the name Sephiroth actually comes from the word Sefirot.

    The 1st to escape infinity is not infinity, create geometry did this creature for the followers to see. Not by thought did this creature say, free the others into my geometry. From infinity saw the division we, follow the 1st to escape infinity. Mystery is what creature made geometry, mystery is what are we to divide and escape infinity.

      I would start with trying to understand why you feel the need to build and develop it in the first place? Is there something specific you want? If so, what are the steps to get there and make it happen in reality? This is how you build and develop any of the sefirots?
