Ride DART Fair Express (New Flyer D60LF)

Riding the DART Des Moines Area RTA State Fair express from State Capitol to the Fairgrounds. Filmed in August 2022.
2022 is the final year of service for these New Flyer D60LF model articulated buses. They are expected to be retired now that the Iowa State Fair shuttles are finished. DART is also unlikely to be adding additional articulated units to their fleet at any point in the near future as they simply don't have the ridership demand on any regular or express routes to justify purchasing more units and operating them. 1501 is 1 of 7 ex-OCTA units purchased and fully rebuilt for DART in 2015. They ran primarily on express route 98 pre-C-19 in addition to working the State Fair shuttles each year. As of August 2022 only 4 of these remain in service, with them largely being retained for use on the Fair express runs for one final season.
