I only became aware of the controversy surrounding this device after I ordered it. I don't know if I would have done it if I had known beforehand. I can definitely understand the frustration and why play users feel like they're being taken for a ride ... but in the end I'm glad I did. The Play didn't appeal to me enough at the time ... what the Play + has to offer convinced me to take a look at it and I really enjoy it and I'll definitely keep it. Even at the risk that in a year the Play ++ could make the Play + obsolete.

I really doubt they will pull a repeat, people asked about them doing the same for the tracker and someone from polyend replied that no way they are repeating what they did with the play obviously because of the response from people going nuts.

@@ottsch who knows they may have not had that many initially so it was pretty much always going to sell out no matter the complainers. I'm playing with mine right now.🤷♂

Its funny. My OG PLAY stills sounds as good as the day I bought it. People act like the original is all of a sudden obsolete. I guess have the mindset with this type of digital tech gear that its not going to hold its value just like my cell phone and laptop. The + didn't add any features that I was looking for, so I guess it worked out for me. I want the next version to have the ability to have way more samples in a project. But it may take years to get that now with all the drama.
This sounds so good any chance of you doing another video explaining how you put this together l would love to be able to do this style of music
Love this. There’s only a small handful of Play+ videos on YT so far and this is my far the best demonstration of its abilities. Forget any controversy…I’m excited for this. Mines on order. Keep posting!!

Great (as always and almost everything from you ;)) I assume in this piece you also use the synth section and not just samples? but anyway, the piece is to blame for me ordering the polyend play+ too :)) Do you only use the included samples in this piece or did you also import your own?
Thanks !! I used the synth side extensively on this piece. The sample management is not really fun on the Play + ... so I transferred a few of my own samples but I should definitely spend the time to prepare much more samples. The stock samples are really good I have to say.

Beautiful music and beautifully done. I love seeing this instrument used for ambient music instead of just wild crazy glitchy stuff that you see in other videos.
I really don’t understand why Polyend got so much heat for trying to give us an improved version of an already excellent product. People buying these products should already know that when you buy music tech you are subject to having future versions released with more features and enhancements.
Just like you they love technology and only want to produce the best product at an affordable price. I had the original Play and was happy to trade mine in for an enhanced version. All this bitching and complaining needs to stop.
Thanks a lot !! I can understand why people get upset... but as you say... bitching and complaining doesn't help anyone... not even those who do it. Regardless of whether I like Polyend's marketing strategy or communication... I wish them well and enjoy making music with the box.

Thanks ... with the synth engines of the + it's now possible to have long sustained notes. Just increase the sustain parameter if you build your own patches ( by default it's on zero) With samples unfortunately not since there is no loop available.

Thanks !! It's really very difficult to compare. You have 8 voices available... you can choose 3 different engines/presets for a project. In terms of parameters, they are quite extensive/deep. Programming sounds from scratch is really no fun because you have to do it all in a parameter list. But it's enough to adjust a few presets. In terms of sound, the engines are great and definitely have character. The great fun factor about Play is being surprised and "accidentally" coming up with great results. Less of a workhorse that allows you to implement your ideas. A groovebox in best sense ...
@@substan_music Thanks! I guess it s similar to the PE tracker in that way that you can randomize a whole lot of things for some happy accidents hunting. I sounds great at least in your hands once again thanks and well done!
