luv ur voice pal!!.........was real scared about this. This was the only hurdle that really put me against the wall about linux. But now more confident. Thanks.
@@tostoday As someone who knows little about Linux, and computers in general, I have a Canon Pixma MP210. It prints fine on regular paper, but it is not allowing me to print clearly on "photo-paper". Images look like a film negative. I've been led to believe I need a driver, or update. I went to my update section and it said "no update available". I went to openprinting link and have no idea what to download. I just moved to where I'm at now and know no one. Can you direct me to what I need to do to fix this issue? And a lot of the "lingo" is also foreign to me.
@@3rdandlong When all else fails Turboprint will work and it's easy. If you're adventurous you can try localhost:631/ but it's not for beginners. The fact is some printers will not have full functions for Linux.
@@tostoday Its weird. It used to work before. And I'm a beginner but I'll try turboprint. I'm really in need of someone to see what I'm doing. Scared I'll really F-something up.
I've never had an issue---- EXCEPT with one I just bought.. I an debian user....doesn't MATTER all works... anyway got a Canon TS702a and THERE ARE NO DRIVERS for it for linux-- not in foomatic database or gutenprint or anywhere else--- don't EXIST-- and it WILL NOT WORK with Linux.. simply WON"T. The rest are easy...and yes it's the same...I've done ARCH, DEBIAN, Fedora, and ubuntu--- and my "goto" is DEBIAN..
In search for my solution, your tutorial is the closest. The process is much the same with Manjaro. But when I set printer properties to match my paper size A4, it keeps reverting to Letter size after I apply the settings. My printer is a Canon PIXMA TS3151. So I am wondering if the PPD file could be used to upload the right media size to the printer to avoid this media size mismatch error?
i have been given a HP PSC 1350 printer, from a friend. This happens to be a really old printer, maybe 10 yrs or older, i guess? Since i am going to be a linux guy, is it possible to get the drivers from Turboprint for Linux? or from any other source available. Thanks.

Well thank you. Enjoy!
All one needs is a PPD file. Don’t understand why it’s not readily available.
Very informative, thank you.
You're welcome!
thank you a lot
CUPS is already installed in ubuntu based distros, it's used as the backend for that printing interface
Thanks, I wasn't sure for Ubuntu.
Where have you been all my life😭
Waiting for you yo watch this :)
Useful video thanks.
Thank you Derek. Please share this with others who might be lost :)

That is a bit old. Turboprint has always worked for me but try the Ubuntu or similar printer app first, you never know.
@@tostoday Thanks
