I do so love this scene after they get close, the music emboldens, and her glorious gown swirls around the floor like a great purple puff of meringue 🥰 so iconic and so darling, no matter who’s rendition of the show it is.
One of my favorite parts of the show! I’ve been a fan of it since middle school. I’ve seen two stage productions and both movie versions. I hope Paramount hurries up with that remake they’ve been developing for a while.
I don't like the visible RF microphones. There is also zero chemistry between these two. She seems to be singing to the birds or the second balcony as the case may be. I think that's Jose Llama as the King. I saw him on the road in the US and he was wonderful. Maybe it's just teh huge house they are performing for here.
It is Jose Llana, who I really like, although I miss his singing as Lun Tha from 20 years ago. I've seen actors play roles over long runs and sometimes their performances change, sometimes night to night sometimes over time. This has gotta be his 4th or 5th Anna, including Kelli O'Hara and Laura Michelle Kelly from the American tour. Maybe he plays it different to the different Annas? I dunno. Just sayin'!
No her voice was shrill and never did her interpretation match the Hammerstein lyrics, especially when it ends in a question. With much less of a voice Gertrude Lawrence was better.
They have ZERO chemistry as one of the comments said here. But the thing why it looks that way is because the female lead literally doesn't look on the male lead most of the time.
Her singing is only mediocre and why is she not looking at the man she is singing about?...they seem to have zero chemistry. Also why isn't this Kelli O'Hara? She seems SO unsure.
This is only an extract of the whole scene, if you know the story. She's daydreaming and reminiscing of her time in a ballroom, that's why she's not looking directly at him. In fact, she starts dancing on her own first. I saw Annalene Beechy performing as Anna twice and she's absolutely wonderful.

This lady's diction is so good that I can clearly hear every syllable.
She is a woman
@@thomasfy4 Duh!!
Yes! That’s true! My daughter played this part in Aberystwyth - one of my favourites! She is Ms Anna From Wales and played Mrs Anna from Wales! 😊
I bet she takes good dic… tation 😏
Does she take got dic-tation?

I remember seeing Jose when the show toured in the states. Costa Mesa to be exact was where I saw him as the King.
I saw in when it went down to San Diego! Good times!
On tour
My favourite musical done to perfection ❤
haha, very fun to be in this. (royal child)

She looks and sounds too young for the role too whereas Kelli O'Hara is more or less the right age to play the role, maybe?
The name is Llana: llama is the animal! ;-)
@@ItsWayMoreThanMusic Well, so does the Llana as the King. He seems like a very young 40ish here.
I thought he was wonderful too
Her voice is impeccable and absolutely beautiful. Her acting and general stage presence though... Not so much.

Which actor is the king? He can sing
His name is Jose Llana.
@@HarringtonTribal I saw him on tour as the King. I found him surprisingly funny in pieces
Who is the actress? She's very polished and attractive as Mrs. Anna. There is chemistry between them.
That’s what I would like to know too
@@manuelorozco7760 I think that's Annalene Beechey; a replacement for O'Hara.
@@mylesgarcia4625 Oh that makes sense
I don't know why but i got used to Kelli O'Hara as Anna, and every other actress just seems not right for the part.
Funny, I'm the opposite. I'm not a huge fan.
Chocolate Souljah well that’s ok, everyone has an opinion!
@@sandrasiaudvytyte7186 And thanks for tolerating mine. I rewatched this and I have changed my mind. I prefer Ms. O'Hara.
deborah Kerr in the film did a fantastic job although she was dubbed.
amin sadeghpour true! The film is very good!

Your opinion -- not everyone else's.
Sorry but no one does this like Yul Brynner
Yul Brynner he isn’t
She is terrible . Kelli o.hata is so much better. Who is she
Let’s see you do better cuz you don’t know anything lol
