I learned this hymn when I was a child at the church and It was one of my favourites. Now I'm 22, I'm older and after many storms I can say It is well with my soul because Christ lives in me :)
YEAH boy!! getcha-self some...Holy Spirit! Another song sung by so many people thus far in history, has just been hijacked and taken over without consent to now be remembered only by the greatest group of God's singers.............Digital Age! Q
Can't stop listening to this. Thanks for sharing the story behind the song. Spafford is a new inspiration for me to keep the faith even through adversity.
What I really enjoy in their music and especially watching them jam out and none of them "hold out on ya". They give 100% every single time with no holding out on. Yeah-Boy!! That's very nice to watch. There's nothing better than watching and observing a person worshiping the LORD with all they have. It's kind of like watching a person get baptized. What's can be better than witnessing somebody give 100% full submission and obedience by worship the BIG BOSS MAN !! (Jesus Christ).
No matter what version, this song is a constant reminder that if Christ is within us,it will always be well within our soul no matter what storms we face in life.. We worship a living, loving and powerful God that reigns supreme over everything else...
You guys are doing amazing things here. I've just come across your work. Bless you. Thank you, Thank you. God will be pleased for all Glory to Him in your songs.
I don‘t know how often I listened to this. Perfection! Awesome mix of guitars and drums and synths. What a bummer you guys using way too much synths nowadays. As every other mainstream Christian Musician...but this still is groundbreaking!
Wish I could see you guys in concert. I see on your tour list you are playing at a lot of youth/young adult conferences, but I'm afraid I couldn't pass for a youth being 39.... or could I...??? hmmm
I wish I could just spend one day with you guys at Asterisk Sound. I'll bring my PRS with me and we could just jam. I'm pretty good at harmonizing as well.... Pretty please!!!
Have you ever seen the vids of John Mark McMillan when he has a bunch of people in an empty room and they just sing all together and worship God? The Digital Age should totally do that.
He never "shredded" at all. The small solo was very tastefully done and fit in well with the rest of the music. And even if he would have had a shredding solo, there's nothing wrong with changing up a 140 year old song a little bit to fit well with modern worship trends.
Why don't hymns have shredding? What if I don't like that? It all comes down to personal preference. That being said... Psalms 33:3 "Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts." Clearly David and God like shredding.
***** Thus my use of Psalm 33:3. Or Psalm 100 "Make a joyful noise". Or even 1 Corinthians 10:31. Whatever we do should be worship and for the glory of God. Eating, drinking, playing solos, singing in a choir. Pooping. Everything.
I think that with words this intense, he could've "shredded" a heck of a lot more. Musicians that can't shred on a song like this, probably are not paying attention to what they are actually singing. Personally, I think a huge dubstep drop in the middle of the song, that makes you stop and feel the pain of the hymn-writer as he surveyed the vast ocean that swallowed his children, would be entirely appropriate.

I am convinced...you guys can not produce any song short of an epic one. Keep being amazing!

i love that they sing "thou hast taught me to know" instead of "thou hast taught me to say"
I'm sure we all have fallen in love with the classic hymn since young but I really dig this interpretation, love the shredding.

Amazing talent, God-gifted for sure. God Bless you Mike D. Thanks for being a friend to my son growing up.

jack, shred on, buddy. shred on.
By far, my favorite of the "Rehearsals" videos -- such a well-done and powerful rendition of this hymn!!
Thank you for sharing the story behind the hymn! I like the Digital Age adaption of this song!

Amazing!! minute 4:25 my favorite part
I really appreciate the guitar parts. Thank you for taking a risk
I just wish they would extend the jam out part of all their songs, not long enough. Need to keep rewinding the video.

They are worshipping God in their own unique way with a classic influence, what's so wrong about that?
@@jndvs95 nowadays it’s not that „unique“ anymore :) Its just not my cup of tea.
@@thomasw1865 always fair that we have our own preferences. I'm just happy to see anyone worshipping the Lord with all they have and know how to do
Awesome version, love it.
This is REALLY nice!
Can't wait to see y'all on the 15th! #BreakTheseChainsTour

When will the Rehearsals volume 2 be available on ITunes?
Love these rehearsals. 😃
This is so beautiful, and I absolutely love your gorgeous guitars! Do you guys have a setup list hiding out somewhere? I'd love to see what you use!

Hey Guys, do you have the chords for this version posted anywhere?
Do you guys have a CD?
dem 24 fret doe
nevermind gottcha on google play
Noiceeeee
Seriously, why shred on a classic song? We don't need a hey-look-at-me guitar riff on a tried and true song. I still like the rest of it though.

I will admit, it is tastefully done, but do we find it necessary? As an interpretation for a new generation, it might be needed...
