That was actually dangerous for these two animals. Not only for the jerboa. Same for the reticulated python too. Snakes can easily get harmed. That was just cruel and stressful for these two animals.
@The Rat Crew Thank you for clarifying. Regardless, I still think it is a horrible thing to do...putting that snake in there with that poor animal. It's cruel.
Pythons constrict their prey before they eat them. They eat their prey whole so they wouldn't want them to squirm in their stomach. That snake was trying to get out so it had no intention to eat them, just interested.
I'm not a fan of rodents, and used to feed baby rats to my baby snake. But these seem to be your pets, why would you put them in a position to be eaten by a predator?
I dont understand why you'd go out of your way to traumatise a group of jaboas as well as a bermese python no matter what way you look at this its cruelty.
Do NOT put snakes in with kangaroo rats. Not only can the snake injure the Jerboa the Jerboa can seriously injure the snake. This was irresponsible pet handling. All you're doing is putting the animals at risk and stressing them out. This is not a channel kids should be watching because of your irresponsible behavior.
@@poltergeist1511 These are pet snakes. They've been bred to have colors they wouldn't have in the wild. They wouldn't survive due to lack of camouflage.
They’re hard to get as pets, and are illegal as such in many places, as they can carry at least five different zoonotic diseases humans can catch; including hemorrhagic fever and monkeypox. As a result of being extremely difficult to breed in captivity, there’s a problem in the pet market with jerboas being captured in the wild and sold illegally and carrying diseases with them. They’re extremely high-maintenance pets, and require a lot of room to run; larger than in this video, as this tank is actually way too small. This means you’ll need either a very large aquarium tank, like you’d get for a large reptile, or a custom-made pen. Be aware that it will also need to be quite tall, as they can jump several feet straight up, especially when frightened. You’ll need a sandy or loose dirt substrate that’s pet safe, which is more expensive and harder to clean than most rodent bedding. You’ll have to pay special attention to monitoring their diet, as you can’t give them water. And one last thing; as cute at they are, they aren’t even close to being domesticated, and will be quite wild, even if from a breeder. Handling them is not advisable, as though you can somewhat tame some of them, this isn’t the norm and they’re infamous for biting, and biting hard if you try to touch or lift them up. If you’ve never been bitten by a wild rodent, let’s put it this way; these little guys can bite deep enough to draw a good amount of blood, and you’ll need to keep your tetanus shots up to date! Typically they’re not recommended as they do not make good pets. But if you feel up to creating a miniature zoo habitat, and are willing to give this still-wild critters the extra care and space they need; check your country’s rules on exotic pets, then go ahead. Just be very careful choosing a breeder, so as to not buy an animal smuggled from the wild, exotic diseases likely included.
