      It's a sorry ass industry that passion talent and brains get you zero. The people are pathetically awful this is why artists and musicians just can't stand radio people they're jerks by nature. Awful sorry arrogant people.

    Great video! You look like someone who truly wants to help. I respect that. I’m not much of a radio personality but I am a great dj. How would I be able to reach the radio scene?I’ve reached out on emails and no response what exactly should I be showing them? I’ve sent links to my RUclips page! that is really the only thing I can do. Do you have to be a emcee guy to be in the radio? Can it just be mixing music? Need help man I’m from orlando fl it that matters 🤷‍♂️ 😃

    Hi there Corey, Thank you for the awesome video. Anyone who wants to get on the radio should listen to this. I just started representing a radio personality who is in the Radio Hall Of Fame. He was an anchor on the leading radio news station in a top 5 market in the U.S. For about 7 years then the station was sold. I need help in finding him work. Corey, I do not know where to start. He can do any type of radio from news to disc jockey and talk show host. Can you please help me??? I am so impressed with your video I am surprised it has not gotten more views. Please do more. Thank you so much in advance. Take care and be safe. London

    I have a question. I like to record myself doing the morning sign on an evening sign offs for different types of radio stations. Is that something to s stick in an air check package?

    • @coreyonradio654
      @coreyonradio654  Год назад +1

      You want your audio to be about 1:30 minutes long showing off your personality. Stay away from sign on/offs and weather and things like that.

    Hey Corey, I'm a board operator who wants to be on air one day. I have a quick question.....
    How would you recommend networking when most people are working from home? It was a lot easier when the offices were filled with people.

      Got to work with what you have, email and social media. Basically just get the conversation going and let it build into something.

    Hi there, glad I bumped into your video. Will creating a demo help out my foot in? Also will it be advisable to post it to social media direct?

    • @coreyonradio654
      @coreyonradio654  Год назад

      Depends on the quality of the demo, if it’s really good definitely post it to social media. You never know who might happen by it.

    I have been in radio on and off in the radio industry. I fell in love with it. I haven't been able to work to work at the radio station in a few months,. I'm not able to do manual labor anymore because of my disabilities with my feet. I had planned on getting a Bachelors Degree in Media Communications. I had been told that it could help me with other jobs just in case it didn't work out in the radio industry. I love radio it is truly all I want to do the rest of my life. What are your suggestions? Thank you for all of your help.

      Right now it is really hard because of COVID. No one is hiring. I would just suggest to reach out to your local stations and just make contact with them and start building a relationship/making contacts. Best of luck!

    Do you need a fcc series 3 license to broadcast on radio like it used to be decades ago? Does broadcast magazine still exist? It was a place to go to read classified and send a demo tape ( yes, tape, reel to reel, I am "older" ) I went to announcer training studio's nyc in approx 1969. Thanks for the informative video!

    How can I become a Radio Mix show DJ? (And get compensated for it).
    I have a lot of experience DJing, however I am having a hard time being able to receive compensation for it. I've been on the radio, been in clubs, worked with many up and coming artists, make edits, remixes etc. But I can't find a break through on landing a position within the radio. I've thought about purchasing all the stuff myself but if I do that how can I get the return on my investment?
    I'm like 90% sure I can completely get it up and running but being able to generate a livable income off of it, isn't something I know how to do.

      Radio is a creative industry, so make your resume different and not so cut and dry. You need to do something to get the attention of the person hiring.

    What degree would you recommend then? If not communications or do you just think a degree doesn’t matter?

    • @coreyonradio654
      @coreyonradio654  4 года назад +4

      I'm an advocate of getting a degree so you can set yourself up for success done the road if radio doesn't work out. If anything I would say get a minor in communications and major in something else such as business. If the school you're looking at offers hands on training versus book work, even better.

      Just depends on the position, go to the websites and the employment/career page and usually they have it listed. Or go to the major companies websites to see the job postings and what they require.

      There really are not positions nowadays for mixers on air. Basically those few spots are done by the personalities already with the station. Out of all the stations/markets I've been in only Atlanta had mixers for their Saturday night shows and those people had been with the radio station for over 5 plus years.
