Guys Freydis wanted power and as a ship is really poorly written. Ivar needed a woman who was a warrior and a politician with deep Machiavellian character. Not a sweet looking girl but a cold manipulator with analytical mind to outmatch his temper but also someone who made him feel like a normal person like he always wanted not something divine or crazy. And their relationship and urge to marry her to be built up not only two fucking scenes and listen people we are getting married
He deserved someome better than her, not a poor woman who mayne never truly loved him and lied to him and betreyed him at the first chance she got. She never understood him and the only thing he asked for and neeed was to be accepted and to be loved for who he was and she didn't. He shown in s 6 that when he was truly loved he loves back a lot in return and he changed a lot
He literally killed their baby. How can you blame her, she betrayed him and wanted him to die, if he killed an innocent child, which she loved? Even after all she did for him. She made him feel that he's more than just boneless boy, that can't be like his brothers. She gave him motivation and love and he killed their baby just because it was with disabilities (just like him). She didn't deserve a man like that. He wasn't bad at all, but it doesn't change the fact, that he did lots of brutal things, which he shouldn't do. She had the right to hate him. You would too, if someone killed your child
@@Rhal928 It doesn't matter if the baby was his, or not. He killed an innocent child. He had no right to do so, and the fact that the child was not his is no excuse. In real life, will we also acquit the man who killed the child because it wasn't his and he got angry? I don't think so

I don't know why the media romanticizes toxic relationship. Ivar is my favourite character on the show but he was borderline abusive to Fredis at some point even before he killed her child which made her to betray him. Also strangling her to death. Not cute. He was becoming a psycho. His relationship with fredis is not it at all. The only real relationship he ever had with anyone was with Igor in Rus.
Everyone forgets he burned people to death and took the free speech of Kattegat and went full Caligula. I still love him though. Beautiful and damaged is always irresistible
He burnt his brother's fiancé alive and decided to kill his newborn baby without first talking to his wife about it also he killed his wife at the end. Maybe He is a genius and handsome but with psychopathic tendencies or he is one already.
Amor era a última coisa que ela sentia por ele né. Ela era uma escrava que viu uma oportunidade de se dar bem. Só que dormiu com outros homens pra fazer filho.
There are moments that are understandable and sad. But he is insane and there are no words to deny that. This family is such a mess as well. But he can be loving, until you betray him
In fictional works, underlying meanings can often be subjective and open to interpretation. However, in the context of Ivar thinking that Katia and Froydis were the same woman, there could be a few possible underlying meanings: 1. Symbolism of longing or desire: Ivar's confusion could symbolize his deep longing for Froydis and his desperate desire to see her again. His mind may have blurred the lines between reality and fantasy, causing him to believe that Katia was actually Froydis. 2. Themes of identity and perception: The confusion between Katia and Froydis could reflect larger themes of identity and perception in the story. It could explore how our perception of others can be influenced by our emotions, memories, or personal experiences. 3. Exploration of duality or interconnectedness: The belief that Katia and Froydis are the same woman could signify a metaphorical connection between the two characters. It might suggest that they share similar qualities or represent different aspects of the same person. .
I've is an interesting character and is complex. However, he does things out of anger that he later regrets. He can't control the anger that has built inside since childhood.
After that we see like evar lose everything he is not happy he want to die we see like her power has desapear he don't want fight anything and he don't care if lagertha death or not who see that
So was Katia a real person or just a figment of his imagination? .. why didn’t they get an different actress to play her ? …l suppose for the storyline they needed Ivar to have an ally with power and influence inside the royal household seeing as they kicked out Dir and Oleg poisoned his own brother , Igor is too was too young and “powerless” at the time … so l guess the Katia character was introduced as part of IVAR’s redemption arc so he could learn empathy through Igor and be with a woman with power and who wanted the same thing as him but who he could also help save after having killed his previous wife and their child
