Watch this 3 hour long relaxing video of Pacific Ocean waves crashing against a beach. At the beginning of the video the sun rises behind the camera to light up the waves and shore birds. At 23:45 a body surfer enjoys the waves. At 1:01:16 I moved the camera just a bit to see some more body surfers who later use boogie boards.
Body boarding is a surface water sport in which the surfer rides a bodyboard on the crest and face of a wave which is carrying the surfer towards the shore. Bodyboarding is also referred to as boogieboarding. The average bodyboard consists of a short, rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. Bodyboarders typically use swim fins for additional propulsion and control while riding a wave.
High Tide was at 9:20am (about half way through the video). Filmed from 8am to 11am Marine Street Beach in La Jolla, Southern California (near San Diego) on December 26, 2011 using a Canon HV30 and Zoom microphone. Marine Street Beach near the community of La Jolla, California is legendary to body surfers and body boarders because of its thunderous waves, which crash right at shoreline. However, this beach may not be ideal for families, as the rough surf is not well suited to children. The rough waves at this beach have been known to cause serious injury to swimmers and body boarders.

This is my favorite of all the ocean sound videos I've checked out. It reminds me so vividly of many many happy days spent on the beach, half-way drowsing in the sun, listening to the waves, the birds, the voices. I love that there is someone walks by and says something, and that a couple and dog go by, and the voices of the boys playing in the surf. Such wonderful memories of such a wonderful time. I can really feel that I am there.
(To the complainers: there are TONS of carefully groomed videos out there with nothing unusual about them.)
I am so glad there is no music with this! And I love it that you made this because it contains so much realness: Dogs barking, the sandpipers, the people with the surf boards, the man walking by. I TOTALLY LOVE this video and use it all the time to help me wind down and go to sleep. The way you taped this is awesome.🤩👍 I LOVE the tiny white birds running across the beach in the beginning and how a guy walking says "you have the best seat in the house huh." (15:51)😄😄... And I LOVE that you moved the video so that we can enjoy the surfers and bodyboarders. The best thing I like about yor video is the "NATURAL sound" of the waves. Most other videos have amplified sound or white noise or piano music. For me, this is the best. 👍 . I grew up in Orange County, Calif. My family and many of our friends would go to Huntington Beach and Newport Beach often. Different ones would surf, bodyboard or snorkle often. I LOVED playing Beach Volleyball, Badminton, and Frisby. Every year, we would go to the beach late at night for the "Gruinin Run". My family often went camping at "Doheny State Beach".... Then, during my marraige, we moved to Riversie County and would go over the Ortega Highway to San Clemente or drive down to Oceanside Beach. We've also driven to Encinada, Mexico and spent the day at the "Blow Hole."..... To this day I still go with my friends for a day at the beach.❤🤩

You are blessed! I grew up on the east coast, loved the water, my family moved me to the desert where it’s hot and dry! When I’m near the ocean, I feel truly alive! This is my favourite kind of oceanscape video, unpretentious and natural, just the sea waves crashing, people and animals passing by. So simple and yet so powerfully beautiful.

Just to even live by this is beyond anything any millionaire pop,rock,rapper superstar could ever have. The different ways we view life.

You really need to do another video similar to this. Here are what makes it so worthwhile to watch: 1. No music. Nuff said. 2. Glassy water conditions. No more soothing visuals than seeing the ocean in glass like conditions. 3. Seeing ppl interacting with these conditions…mellow interactions that has its own calming rhythm. 4. Early morning beach scenes have just the right amount if lighting. 5. Steady camera…adds a real stabilizing calming effect. 6, camera location…makes one feel like your with this group. 7. Mellow water enthusiasts…another factor adding to the calming vibes. 8. Camera angle, showing a constant horizon…again enhancing the calming effect. 9. Sound..just the right cadence and volume of the surf ebbing and flowing. If only there was better wave form…but even though wave conditions were sub park, this video stands ears and shoulders above other vids in this category/genre. Admittedly, prolly too much of a challenge to make another video with the foregoing attributes. Has come to my rescue over many anxiety and high blood pressure attacks. Many thanks.

I love listening to the people in this video. Reminds me of falling asleep on the beach as a kid and hearing all the conversations and laughing in the background of the waves. Don't change a bit of it. Dogs, people, birds, boats... it's all great. Thanks

Thanks a bunch. One of the best video and sound for ocean waves themed white noise and experience. Especially thanks for not having a loop. Captured what I like to do when I go to beaches. Recommendation, take the first 50 minutes, and loop it over and over 9x. Why?
Because after about an hour, some people decide to swim and play just in front of the camera and microphone, so you can hear them talking ... and as they finally start to leave, more people come in... and from that point on, you hear distant conversations a lot of the time, disrupting the serenity.
Right, They are distracting. I watch and listen till they appear and quickly start the vid at the beginning.

Thanks very much for spending so much time recording this….I did the same on the Jurassic coastline at sunset but it was spoilt with a couple and a dog walking in front of my camera! The man talking in the background made us jump as I was giving someone a therapy massage and energy healing to this music!

I just bodysurfed here last weekend. I was wearing a wet suit and everytime i caught a wave it got filled with some sand. it felt pretty crumby, but it was a nice time indeed, and i ll be back

I need to sleep to ocean noises and this is the best one. Gentle surf, doesn't sound like the beach during a hurricane. No screaching seagulls. Just rolling surf. Just a warning to those looking for an ocean to sleep. This is perfect except the person recording speaks at about 15:50; if you are half asleep, it will scare the ever loving bejeeus out of you. LOL
That happened to me. I was out. Thought someone was in my bedroom.
