    5:02 I like that feature in Provia Endure that it tilts without the side locks

    Thanks for the great videos! Any thoughts on Provia Endure DLA-UV vs Okna 500 Heatseal deluxe? These windows seem almost identical in energy ratings and have the same warranty. I believe Okna 500 uses double strength glass where Endure uses single strength as standard which maybe is also the reason for the slightly higher structural number (171 vs 141 mph). Quote for Endure is $1600 less than Okna for 20 double hung windows which are 34 x 61 with 6 of the 20 being double, double hungs. Both installers have great reviews and warranties.

      The glass of Okna 500 series and Provia pretty much similar in energy efficiency. Both windows are well insulated. The Provia Endure has a thicker frame than OKNA 500 series, so you are gonna loose more glass real estate. If you have fairly big windows, it is less of an issue.
      Provia Endure has a nice lock and tilt system, it gives a cleaner look of the bottom sash.
      So either way Provia Endure and Okna 500 series will make your house more energy efficient and look nicer. Keep in mind though, that Provia Endure is more comparable to OKNA 600 series.
      OKNA 500 series are more comparable to Provia Aspect windows
      If you have a quote with $1600 less for Provia Endure, it sounds like a better deal.

    Hi and thanks for the videos. How does the window size change for Provia if you go from inserts to full replacement?

    • @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC
      @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC  3 месяца назад

      The window size depends on the existing rough opening frame of the windows you have . If you have wood windows right now then usually you can get extra about 3-4 inches. If you have fairly big windows, we usually recommend to install replacement windows to make the project more budget friendly

    How does window size (framing width) change for Provia Endure if you go from inserts to full window replacement?

    • @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC
      @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC  3 месяца назад

      It all depends on the existing windows you have right now. Full frame replacement requires removal of the whole frame of the existing windows, that what gives you extra window frame real estate. It does not depend on the Provia frame only. Provia Endure is definitely have thicker frame to body ratio, to cut it slightly, Provia Aspect might be an option.
      If you have small windows right now, then definitely it is better to do full frame replacement, otherwise inserts give you the most approachable price

    Should probably review the Integrity by Marvin line, which is Marvin's fiberglass replacement window line (as opposed for new construction). They are made in a different factory, and although they both use the same fiberglass raw material, the Integrity line are much nicer windows than the Marvin Essential.

    who wins when the vinyl starts expanding and contracting in the winter and the seals begin to fail ? Like mine

      That's sad to hear that you have issues with vinyl windows. What state are you in ?
      In NJ Eastern PA we do not have issue. Vinyl contracts in winter and expands in summer. If the window is properly installed and flexible silicone was used, they last for 30 years at least

    One thing some don't understand is that a quality fiberglass window is much stronger than vinyl and will probably last longer than even a high quality vinyl window, and fiberglass will not expand/contract as much.

      Definitely, fiberglass material reinforces the window frame and adds more robustness. We wish the window had more insulation around the sashes to lower air infiltration

    The Marvin has the ugly install holes on the inside. They are so ugly. You need to revise video and zoom in and show ugly install hole covers. As a homeowner, I don't want to see these covered holes on the inside everyday. Makes the window a NO buy for me. I recommend everyone go to a showroom or house where the windows are installed before buying

      Yes, definitely those plugs might show a bit. We do agree it is always better to see in person how they look. Some people are ok with these Screw plugs and some don’t like them
