    The original enforcer. Played on the edge off the laws and sometimes beyond them but still a player every team would love to have. And hated to play against

    A couple of years back he started mouthing off about Etzebeth's performances for his club team. I have no idea why Bakkies did this - jealously perhaps - but he got a response I'd expect from Eben - name a time and a place. Didn't hear from Bakkies after that - surprise surprise. He always struck me as a typical bully - happy fighting men half his size. Eben is a super athlete, a better player and a better man.
