Interesting concept, unfortunately in Spain a pocket knife specifically conceived as a self defense tool means confiscation by the police and a hefty fine. We'd better carry a common straight blade suitable for food preparation as peeling fruits. At least our country is still extermely safe and locking blades up to 11 centimeters are allowed, not in France, U.K...
Confiscation and a fine? Thats it?!?!? Thats not bad at all, Here in the states (unless its legal most states are illegal) your taking a trip downtown and your going to have a criminal record...
@@donfierro777 Not here in WI, you dont need a permit to carry a knife concealed no matter what the blade length is. You can could carry a bowie knife under your shirt if you choose! I love this State.
my dear, i have been practicing goju-ryu karate since 1979, i am 56 years old and i live in Brazil and i can tell you for sure who has been in 4 knife fights that knives of this style DO NOT WORK in a fight for your life. I have several scars from these confrontations, and I discovered for another necessity of survival (in contrast to this current fashion of valuing karambit blades). At time H you simply need something long and pointed to be able to store 5 or 8 times in a row in the same attack. One or two cuts that the karambits make at time H, do not even tickle the opponent. It is necessary to hit the neck to end a fight with KNIVES WITH ONE JOKE. And believe me, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SET THE NECK OF THE OPPONENT WHO IS PREPARED AND EQUIPPED WITH ANOTHER KNIFE. There is only one thing left to do, be brave and go all out in a close attack, and at that time, whoever has the greatest ability to stock several times with the biggest knife ... WINS. This story of using several combined karambit blows is pure bullshit from movies and youtube channels. THESE GUYS WHO TEACH THIS, never had to use what they teach in real life. Go from spyderco resilience or from cold steel ti lite 6 or something like that that gives you the main, reach
I have no real experience in knife fights, but what you say makes total sense. I have a civilian and a couple of polices, and feel that instinctively it will be far more easy to stab with the pointy ones and finish the other guy, rather than trying to hook him in a vulnerable point. Also very good advice on size. The bigger the blade, the more he will bleed.
@@pedrodominguezprieto3925 , An important tip Pedro: the "police of spiderco" does not have a grip that protects your hand from advancing in a lunge that hits a bone (normal thing) ... this will cause damage (deep cuts in your index finger), so I suggest you to train to hold the police c07 in a philippine footprint, leaving the end of the handle supported on the end of your hand ... as a reinforcement in case of being thrown on hard surfaces. This will give you a greater range of the blade as you will have to firm the grip by holding more towards the back of the handle. It will also give you more reach in a cut of your opponent's arms, as the first action in a knife fight should always be to try to hit the arm or hand that the opponent holds his knife. Another piece of information: one or two thrusts with the police's thin blade on the chest and abdomen will do nothing to your opponent .... it has no power to stop his attack, because at the time of adrenaline we don't even feel the punctures we take. The main target is the neck or face, these places immediately make us feel the damage inflicted. But there are several variables, the main thing is that you have at least a few hours of training (alone or under supervision) to acquire CONDITIONED RELATIONSHIPS AND MUSCLE MEMORY ... train the serve, the attack in front of a mirror, body movements, avoidance, and the main thing: to pierce and cut a real target ... something kind of solid, so that you know the reactions of the blade when you hit an object and learn that it is very easy for you to lose your knife in a confrontation. But a large and wide blade is capable of stopping the opponent with only a lunge ... but they are difficult to carry in the city. CHOOSE YOUR KNIFE WELL .... but always the lock is the main factor.

@@maxprint94 I know, my plan in case of need is to target the face or neck. If I cannot reach them, the groin.
