AVROTROS is a Dutch radio and television broadcaster, founded in 2014 from a merger of AVRO and TROS. From January 1st, 2014 the name of the merged broadcaster was used in joint programmes. AVRO was founded in 1923 as the Netherlands first public broadcaster. TROS started broadcasting in 1964. Toppop was a weekly AVRO pop program that was aired between 1970 and 1988.

Growing up in the 70s was the best era great times made better by being with best friends good music midnight to dawn dances a time when people could enjoy life I do remember those flare pants cork sole shoes if I could go back there is nothing I would change miss those times watching this brings back so many memories of all my friends some sadly have passed away some are still here today

Paul da Vinci was the original singer of the Rubettes or the studio predecessor group, who also sang ‘Sugar Baby Love’. As he didn't believe the song would be a success, he left or didn't join the group. Sometimes you make shitty decisions...
Yes, and if I am not mistaken, its Paul's voice on the first released version on vinyl of sugar Baby Love.
I I do suspect they later re recorded it with Paul Williams.
This is not true at all.
Sugar Baby Love has "bop showaddywaddy" all the way through it as it was a demo track for Showaddywaddy. Paul was told the song was not going to be released, so he got a contract with Penny Farthing Records.
It was then subsequently released as TOTPs had the band Sparks booked but they couldnt get a work visa in time, so the BBC rang around the record companies asking if they had any songs, one said yes, and very hastily assembled the Rubettes as a group, and the rest is history.

Paul da vinci was the lead singer for the rubettes on sugar baby love but he left the band after this ,and then slan Williams carried on singing it but paul was the original and in my opinion the better singer
