Phantasmagoria of Flower View, my favorite touhou game I really love this game and their musics, for me the best is Gensokyo past and present. Komachi theme is really fire and fits the difficulty of her stage (for me). Epic arrange and thanks for make a track from PoFV😊
a meandering melody, indecisive between building up tension and just relaxing on the shore. Swirling emotions underneath like the souls of the departed, never really finding solace. Two sections, which sound very different from one another in time signature, rhythm and melody, representing perhaps the two shores of the sanzu river; or perhaps the work-life-balance of the shinigami ferrying the souls across. Endlessly unresolved. The original track has a rather consistent rhythm section beneath this duality of its melodies, to the point that I never even noticed that the melody is a waltz up until now, and it made me feel like it isn't really going anywhere. I could never warm up the track because it lacks the sense of adventure of stage themes, the sense of power of bosses, the emotions borne within the story that is being told by the game and its characters. But as I listen and think about what may have made this piece so difficult to arrange, all of the above is part of what makes this piece special, as well. This lack of a goal is a part of its identity, like Komachi herself; really just here to do her job albeit not with a lot of motivation. Always has been, always will be.
