He dose well in games with small competitive scene NRS games, Skull girls and NA GG pre strive, when strive came out and lots of people were grinding it he was getting destroyed and blamed the game. He tried SFV when that first came out and was getting bodied. Ircc in Covid era he tried going back to SFV got destroyed by mid level players, he tried to go into T7 at that time he got destroyed by mid level competent players. More recently with SF6 was playing JP (busted character) still getting bodied and quit and blamed the game. The only game he did well in with a bunch of high level competition was DBFZ and he looked like a cry baby bitch in the Evo he won.
@@exiaR2x78Sonic also did great in MvCI when the high level competitors (best Marvel players) were there. With smaller competitiors, he did great in SCV and VI, DOA5 and 6 and also KI. Sonic is way better than any in the NRS scene as he got the most experience in FGs, but when it comes to other titles with people with actual fundamentals, he can't dominate the way he does in MK/Injustice. Also, his EVO win in 2018 was tricky. He sure was among the best at the time but GO1's mind got messed up when he was winning. SonicFox even said it, GO1 is a very emotional player and that's why he did that side switch fiasco to stop his momentum after being reset. GO1 was raging, distracted, the momentum wore off...and ended up losing EVO.

Sonic can play Tekken. My thing is with him will he stick to the game. He'll play till NRS decides to update the MK. Then he will go back to it. He did this for SF5, 6, and Tekken7. I will never doubt his abilities. But until I see him actually competing in the Tours? I'll take him seriously then.
Sonicfox has played a bit of T7. He can beat some good tournament level players but the thing about Tekken is your ability to stay on top that is impressive which he clearly can't do. That and Sonicfox still plays his usual style of a ton of aggression and forced 50/50s so of course he'd get some wins under his belt with no real consistency. Also Sonicfox's competitive history outside of probably Skullgirls and Dragon Ball Fighterz is if he isn't successful within a month or so of the game he drops it and goes back to other games he can dominate in like MK. I give Sonicfox 3 months at best before he takes a break from Tekken. And this is obviously not the first time he's ducked or made excuses. I still think one of the most infuriating examples was during like a dragonball fighterz exhibition match he supposedly lost his backup controller which he usually takes with him and complained about it after the fact. That's on him even if he's being truthful which I don't think he is because he didn't even ask a homie between matches during the set to bring him his controller, such a BS excuse. I might as well bring this up since it seems relevant, Sonicfox was begging Harada and the Tekken devs to leave launch Leroy as is because he wanted easy wins which launch day Leroy was obviously one of the most broken (non boss) characters ever in modern Tekken history, definitely the most broken for T7. And I do mean broken good, not cheap, overpowered, or overtuned. None of the other T7 DLC were that obviously broken and either had a skill barrier like Geese or Akuma or it took some time to really realize how cheap or overpowered they are like Kunimitsu or Noctis.
While it took a long time , he also dropped DB Fighterz the minute he got outclassed , and the game attracted less people . He's clout chasing , and tried so hard to be the guy known for being able to win it all in all games
He made top 32 at EVO 23, but he's no match for the killers and has only taken one major in SF6 overall. Fun fact, he took a DQ for every other game he signed up to compete in at EVO in favor of SF.

Competitive Tekken resembles an actual sport. As a long time player I can tell you that it takes YEARS to become a truly skilled player. It's not a game that you can study for a short period of time and head out to a tournament, like in the 2D world. You truly have to spend many years training and playing other skilled players, especially if your main is a Mishima or someone like Hworoang or Yoshimitsu. Sonic Fox is so used to simply picking up and excelling at every 2D game he plays that he doesn't realize that he is a completely different world with Tekken.
I mean I wouldn’t put hwo and yoshi in the same category as a Mishima. Lee and dragunov and Steve are more in their league when it comes to raw difficulty. But overall, I agree
@johnferranti3566 In my opinion Hworoang has hundreds of moves and stance transitions that you have to study and understand, to reach a decent level of proficiency with him takes a while. And with Yoshi, he has always been a unique and awkward character, with various positions, stances, and traps that you have to learn. And to properly understand when and how to use flash, you have to study ALL of the frame data.

I remember hearing like a year or two ago he announced he is "non-binary", and that he only let close friends call him "he", some shit like that. Yeah, that was when I started to ignore news featuring him. They he started sperging out on Twitter and I muted his @ so I wouldn't see any of it. This guy is good at fighting games, sure, but if he is just starting out at Tekken, he will most likely get stomped early on in his learning process. Nothing new about that. Shame he's not more humble, but not everyone carries themselves that way. In terms of elitism, I've always felt the VF community was the worst. Tekken community is bigger and has some prominent shit stirrers, but also a lot of people willing to help new players, or at least point them in the right direction of getting help. There are plenty of guides out there, written and in video form, to help players with damn near anything from combos to Korean back dashing. Tekken 8 will have some great shit to further help, too. Can't wait to see what happens over the next few months with this.

Iirc sonic fox has been notably good in other titles outside of nrs. They were a notable menace in sc6 always placing top 3 at majors. They were good at ggst, and i think evo champions in dbzf and skull girls most recently. Theres probably more games. With that being said, this is 100% a cop out. You cannot just run your mouth and have it moving in the direction of a money match and then duck like this. 100% no lag or anything sonic fox would get eaten alive in that match. That and Sonicfox still plays his usual style of a ton of aggression and forced 50/50s so of course he'd get some wins under his belt with no real consistency. Also Sonicfox's competitive history outside of probably Skullgirls and Dragon Ball Fighterz is if he isn't successful within a month or so of the game he drops it and goes back to other games he can dominate in like MK. I give Sonicfox 3 months at best before he takes a break from Tekken. And this is obviously not the first time he's ducked or made excuses. I still think one of the most infuriating examples was during like a dragonball fighterz exhibition match he supposedly lost his backup controller which he usually takes with him and complained about it after the fact. That's on him even if he's being truthful which I don't think he is because he didn't even ask a homie between matches during the set to bring him his controller, such a BS excuse. I might as well bring this up since it seems relevant, Sonicfox was begging Harada and the Tekken devs to leave launch Leroy as is because he wanted easy wins which launch day Leroy was obviously one of the most broken (non boss) characters ever in modern Tekken history, definitely the most broken for T7. And I do mean broken good, not cheap, overpowered, or overtuned. None of the other T7 DLC were that obviously broken and either had a skill barrier like Geese or Akuma or it took some time to really realize how cheap or overpowered they are like Kunimitsu or Noctis.

He made top 32 at EVO 23, but he's no match for the killers and has only taken one major in SF6 overall. Fun fact, he took a DQ for every other game he signed up to compete in at EVO in favor of SF.

Competitive Tekken resembles an actual sport. As a long time player I can tell you that it takes YEARS to become a truly skilled player. It's not a game that you can study for a short period of time and head out to a tournament, like in the 2D world. You truly have to spend many years training and playing other skilled players, especially if your main is a Mishima or someone like Hworoang or Yoshimitsu. Sonic Fox is so used to simply picking up and excelling at every 2D game he plays that he doesn't realize that he is a completely different world with Tekken.
I mean I wouldn’t put hwo and yoshi in the same category as a Mishima. Lee and dragunov and Steve are more in their league when it comes to raw difficulty. But overall, I agree
@johnferranti3566 In my opinion Hworoang has hundreds of moves and stance transitions that you have to study and understand, to reach a decent level of proficiency with him takes a while. And with Yoshi, he has always been a unique and awkward character, with various positions, stances, and traps that you have to learn. And to properly understand when and how to use flash, you have to study ALL of the frame data.

Im just now getting into tekken, and the execution in this game is crazy. Im trying to play kazuya and between EWGF and instant while rising moves, this is easily the hardest game ive played in terms of execution. HOW DO YOU FUCKS DO IT!?!?? 😭😭😭😭

In terms of elitism, I've always felt the VF community was the worst. Tekken community is bigger and has some prominent shit stirrers, but also a lot of people willing to help new players, or at least point them in the right direction of getting help. There are plenty of guides out there, written and in video form, to help players with damn near anything from combos to Korean back dashing. Tekken 8 will have some great shit to further help, too. Can't wait to see what happens over the next few months with this.
Tekken players have legacy skills going back almost 20 years, which gives us a nice advantage. Although I’ve seen COVID babies upset some of the best. I welcome everyone to the Tekken Community.

Iirc sonic fox has been notably good in other titles outside of nrs. They were a notable menace in sc6 always placing top 3 at majors. They were good at ggst, and i think evo champions in dbzf and skull girls most recently. Theres probably more games.

I always thought pro-players would be… y’know “professional” when it comes to these sort of things but that is just me being naive. People can complain however they want and that’s never going away. We can laugh it off/play it off because it is such a commonality, especially to newcomers and old blood transitioning to a new game such as Tekken 8.
I don’t want to say this because it doesn’t carry that much weight coming from me but; He should've been better than this and not stoop to this level. Experience can earn or provide many valuable things, but what he (SonicFox) has done for the achievements he has attained over the years and now may likely bring a host of problems that he might not get out of.
I would even dare say he’s somewhat desperate to get back up on the high horse he has rode on for so long because someone brought him down to earth.
