It's really noticeable how he just runs back up the court after he scores, even when he dunks on guys. No flexing, no yapping. For a guy who's known for being outspoken, it really stands out.
Playing with Dr J may have be part of the reason.
It wasn’t nothing special to him. Just another day at the office.
Chuckster was just out there getting buckets
Oh yea. Charles Barkley never trash talked. He was actually revered for how quiet he was. What r u 12?
still has no defense tho
He was 6'4"1/2 - 6'5" when officially measured. He was really more like a Small Forward or even a guard, but played the 4. That's seriously crazy to me.
Strength is an underrated attribute in basketball
@@colep.8330 facts
Charles Barkley: Height: 6 ft 6 in, Weight 252+ lb - Michael Strahan Height: 6 ft 5 in, Weight: 255 lb. Charles Barkley was the size of a football defensive end with the strength and speed to match.
@@jojoj3243 Such an interesting build though he doesn’t look juiced up like nfl guys similar to his size
Yes barkley eas 6ft6 he was 2 inches taller than dwade onb1 on one
Chuck today looks like your uncle that tells you he "could have gone pro" but in his prime he really was one of the best post scorers and overall players.
Best PF of all time besides Duncan
He wouldn’t play in todays NBA how slowed the nba pace was
@@kevintorres8848 he could be a better draymond today
My favorite player of all time, right behind MJ. Sir Charles gave fat kids hope growing up
True
true , he took his weight and he made it a weapon as an undersized power forward
He wasn't even fat lol, just not a twig like most NBA players.
I always thought barkley was physically imposing. He just didn’t look fat to me.
@@greysonG10, twig is a bit strong, haha. They're not brick-shithouses like rugby/NFL players, but they're units in their own right.
I used to love watching Barkley play. One of the top 3 power forwards of all time and arguably the best...if not for MJ's Bulls he would have won a championship...he may not have a ring but he has everything else...League MVP, all star multiple times over, Hall of Famer, Jersey retired, Olympic champion and one of the top 50 players of all time and a great basketball analyst...Charles Barkley was phenomenal!
Hes one of the greatest PF for sure, but arguably the best? Na..
@@sorryidgaf.6043 I said arguably
I’m taking Barkley over dirk and Malone
@@nikiedmonds6236 I really don't think anyone could make a convincing argument for Barkley over Duncan
@@cachedreamer ok....
When a Powerforward that actually Powers.
very true
Oh cmon most highline are just open dunks lol
@@whitemamba0089mr dumbface needs to watch more than highlights
CB was a terror to opponents in his time in the NBA. People always joke on him for not having championship rings but he was a dominant force in the league in his prime. Lots of dudes didn’t want to see Barkley on the court.
As a British kid when Jordan was dominating, Sir Charles was and still is my favourite player.
Let's face the fact. He was the best player in that '92 Dream Team. He was unstoppable on that Olympic Games.
jordan was slightly better overall but Barkley was right behind him and in some of the games he was better
Barkley led the Dream Team in scoring in 1992, and again in 1996. He was cut by Bobby Knight in 1984, but most observers of the 1984 Olympic trials said that Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan were by far the two most dominant players there. In his athletic prime, Charles Barkley was the greatest power forward in the history of the NBA
@@idk13539 stats have charles on top, he really wanted to rep USA.
He was the NBA MVP that year as well.
I think Clyde Drexler actually played the best from what I remember. I'd have to rewatch highlights and see
Charles Barkley is the greatest power forward of all times by dominating the way he did at his height and size...that 93 mvp year was one of the greatest years of any athlete...I love Charles Barkley
Tim duncan?
um no.. but he is a dawg
He himself always says Tim Ducan is the greatest PF ever but I think Barkley is even tho he was significantly shorter he was a better rebounder he could take it coast to coast and dunk on you or shoot the three put on the floor go by you or post up literally could do it all
yeah, he's the best non-champion around.
@@bosshoss1209 a beast....he went up against the best
THE ROUND MOUND OF REBOUND WAS A UNREAL PLAYER BARELY 6'5".... HEART OF A LION...
I'm buying the next basketball game that has Charles Barkley.
Check out why Barkley is not in NBA2K
Get Barkley Shut up And Jam for Sega Genesis
@@YeironH same !
One of the best to never win a ring, might be the best. Right up there with Ewing, Karl Malone, Baylor etc.
Iverson is better than all those !
@@matsg91able it can go either way
@@matsg91able I disagree I think Barkley, ewing, and malone are all better, hard to debate baylor because he played so long ago, Iverson may be better than him. He is definitely up there though no doubt, he is one of the best to never win a ring for sure.
AI is .
And James Harden
He was the reason I chose Phoenix Suns as my favorite team.
KJ was my reason, and that lead to me being a fan of Barkley
Same, him KJ Majerle that was a team.
And now their in the NBA FINALS!
I choose them back in 2014 cause of Chris Smoove 😭 liked them since and now they a good team
still a suns fan?
Majority of video showed Chuck in Phoenix where he had the most team success. IMO he was the best individually in Philly. Dude was a beast back there.
Love those Coast to Coast Rim rattling dunks
He dominated back then, and would dominate today
Might not have a ring but the heart of a champion 👍🏽is confirmed
One of the most underrated players of all time genuinely think it’s because he is not in 2k so kids don’t hear his name as much monster mvp season monster career
That last shot was great. People need to remember that Chuck isn't just the funny fat guy on TNT. He was a special player.
Imagine being 6'10 and getting bullied by a 6'5 dude on the blocks 😆
Imagine if he was committed to working out and played defense
he was 6’6
@@andrewdunkcic1878
Listed as one but even Chuck would tell you otherwise
He said he's between Westbrook and Harden who are 6'3 and 6'5 respectively
He's a 6'4 player
I got to watch him play bully ball in the post, he's unstoppable, I loved watching him dominate, he's a great passer too! Round Mound Of Rebound!
Always loved Barkley, what a player. Phoenix is my team since 1992
from UK.
Those of us who remember when Chuck was "SIR" Charles Barkley know that he was a BAD MAN on the court. All you need to know is that this man won the MVP during Michael Jordan's PRIME. Arguably the greatest player to never win a chip. The man never had a single season where he DI NOT average a double-double. The dude averaged 14 boards in one season FOURTEEN. And the fact is that he was SMALL for a power forward at 6 foot 6 - and we're talking in the middle of the "big man" era. And the fact that he STILL dominated was crazy to watch. He was as dominant a power forward as Shaq was a center and that's no exaggeration. I really wish he would have won a chip - imagine all the comedy we missed out on simply because he didn't win a ring lol. I grew up in NYC and back then we didn't have social media or RUclips to watch clips. We had the late news sports clips, usually a montage of all the best plays from around the league depending which sport was in season. Even though Charles played for Phillie and we were in NY, if you watched the sports news then 9 times out of ten you would see Charles on the "highlights from around the league" segment. He was always doing something spectacular or just downright funny and entertaining or sometimes just plain MEAN. You just weren't going to lock up or cook Charles, it wasn't happening. A prime Charles was just a scary player.
love this👊👊👊👊
Charles Barkley was the first unicorn... to be that size and dominant the paint... there will never be another Charles Barkley
Ring or not, Charles was a problem and champion forever in my eyes.
A freak of nature. No one has had that kind of power and strength since
If a player like him couldn't get a championship, it MUST be hard.
Imo he played on teams that didn't build around.
His prime years 1984-1992 were on an aging Sixers team and a front office which did squat once the aging superstars retired or got traded. His years were the suns -> they had amazing team success and for three years straight they went deep into the playoffs and lost to the eventual NBA champs, the Bulls and the Rockets. Barkley played hurt through the first loss to the Rockets, but the second series they should have won. Problem with Suns was that they had no defense and it was just an all powered offensive team so they were missing a few key pieces. That being said Barkley in his prime years never played with another HoFer ... Kevin McHale is on record saying that if he played for the sixers they would won 3 rings, which I agree with.
Plenty of bench players youve never heard of have rings.
People hype about Zion Williamson’s athleticism... Barkley was 6’5 about 260 lbs, played power forward and could jump out the gym... he’s probably the most unique athlete other than Zion to ever touch a basketball... his leaping ability for his size was incredible. Don’t forget he played the position when legendary big men patrolled the paint
Exactly.
Barkley played in an era with some of the most dominant bigs in nba history. Yet he was just as dominant if not moreso than those great bigs. All while being only 6'5.
Jump out the gym? Where? 😂
THE GREATEST POWER FORWARD OF ALL TIME!!!
Cap. Id say 3rd. Still a beast though
Look how physical the game was! Smh
It’s funny watching a pro concentrate so hard on a fast break dribble. Ball handling has really became a staple. Thank you to everyone out there teaching these kids nowadays.
He was a beast on defense also. I'll never forget his block of Hakeem at the all star game
Charles was a beast!!
People forget that he was only 6'4 1/2' real height, and was still a monster down low...
Nah that’s a myth, he’s a solid 6’6” when he stands straight. Kenny Smith is 6’3” and have a look how much taller Charles is than him when they’re shoulder to shoulder on set, easily 3-4 inches taller.
@@MrGunwitch Charles himself said in his book he was 6’5 at the most. Plus I bet Kenny really 6’2
@@motorsportfan1246 It doesn't matter what he says, the truth is self-evident when you see him adjacent other players.
Chuck scoring and then the camera zooms to the opposing coach calling a timeout goes hard
It's nice watching highlights when players took 2 steps before shooting.
He was amazing I think he was the top 10 finishers in NBA history coast to coast nobody did what he did.
There will never be another Charles Barkley. Legit only 6 ft 4in but played like a 6 ft 9 in powerhouse. If he had Magic, Bird or Jordans drive and desire he would have gotten a couple rings.
If he had a co star
MY FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME!!!!! SIR CHARLES!!!! PHOENIX SUNS WAS MY FAV TEAM!!!!
i wish he won 1.....he's a hard worker
he admitted that he didn't work hard at D... his chance at 1994&1995 wasted due to blew 2-0 and 3-1 lead to Rockets
He would be an absolute monster in today's game..
Sir Charles one of the greatest
I wish they would have made more highlights with him in Philly-his PRIME. He was an MVP in Phoenix, but his best basketball was in Philly.
The smoothness of prime Charles amazes me
End to end transition threat. Elite first step, post spin technician, elite finisher at the rim, pogo stick jump ability, offensive post threat and big body hard body that was tough to move.
How is he 6'4" SMH, he works the post like a true PF
He is 6'6" ... why yall always make him shorter than he is? I saw one highlight clip some dude was swearing barkley was just 6'2" -smh

"LOOK OUT! GET OUTTA THE WAY! BIG CHOO CHOO TRAIN COMING STRAIT AT US!" Hollers an opponent 😂
Fortunate enough to have watched him play in the olympics and for Phoenix. Barkley was a true power forward
He's my Idol.
I would love to see any of these small and power forwards trying to guard a prime Chuck lol
Underrated and under appreciated
Unstoppable in beast mode.
I love this dude! 🎉😮
Legend more than others NBA champs
Basketball hall of fame!
Majestic Sir Charles....bows to him!
Man of steel
My favorite player. This was a nice highlight reel, but it was kind of light on his Sixer days, when he was really explosive.
Legend
His dribbling was like someone who's just started playing basketball two weeks ago
This a real bus driver! 🚌 🏀🏅
How they not gonna show his behind the back from halfcourt assist 🤦🏻♂️
I'd recognize that swinging two handed jam anywhere!
love NBA because of him...
Notice when he drives to the hole he's dribbling the ball and only takes 2 steps instead of 3,4&5. That's basketball 101 fundamentals this new NBA era don't know about, so they multiply and decipher incorrectly.. no back or side stepping without dribbling...
Regular season warrior
Barkley = Power play 💪💪💪
These highlight are far away from Chuck's real highlights. You know you were great when the NBA is changing rules because of you and if it wasn't for MJ, Barkley would be my fav player in the early 90s. On and of the court great, normal guy
the round mound of rebound. easily the best player to never win a championship. and what a shame.
Barkley had 2 or 3 fmvp if he didnt play on jordans era
Charles Barkly
Regards from Melbourne Australia
He was like mike tyson. he made nba what a show time. nba got much more colorful than ever. That is what he did. I believe without him, jordan wouldnt have become the jordan.
You don't know much about the Bad Boys then... or the Celtics. THEY are what pushed MJ to the stratosphere. And his ungodly natural talent of course.
To post up, spin off and dunk on a forward at 6'5" is crazy work
Sir Charles 💜
One of the best player
Smallest at his position in the history of the game and yet possibly one of the greatest at his position
Well, shortest player at his position. There were a lot of power forwards who weighed less than 260 pounds and Charles knew how to use that bulk and strength to his advantage
Sir charles,the real deal!!!!!
He would be even more cold in today’s game
Guy played 🏀 like a maniac game became easy for him superstar his pace was a problem sir Charles
3:05 he got hops for being stack. His game translate well if he played today.
Chuck was great. One of my favourite players of all time.
I've been watching inside the nba for over a decade. Chuckster is always acting a fool for laughs. After watching this video, my generation dont realise just how good Barkley was back in his prime playing years....
Lion. Screw the no rings, he was the most dominant player in his time on a subpar 76ers/Suns team that couldnt win. Yet, he willed them to the finals
Draymond green WHO? For those who did not watch Sir Charles in his prime After you watch these highlights PLEASE STOP COMPARING DRAYMOND TO CHARLES!
The guy became a Hall of famer playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, how come the only highlights I see are him playing with the Suns and the Rockets?
Right💯
Did you not watch the whole video🤦🏾♂️
@@niceasf7038 I was probably writing my comment. Thanks for trying to be a smartass, futile attempt.
@@chrishett99 Dam how is he a smartass not everyone knows that u were writing a comment
Chuck is the Dan Marino of retired NBA players. He doesn't have the ring but he's still arguably top ten all time.
Are all the highlights from the old days at this angle? I would love to see him play from a higher point of view
No doubt Charles could play in today’s era 💯
If there was no MJ Barkley would of been the best player in the world in his prime imo. The greatest PF imo.
Ppl talk about mj n LeBron.. but chuck.had d skills.n karisma..my man
Charles Barkley is one of my two favorite athletes in sports with my other favorite being Muhammad Ali.
The #34 is fitting, both Charles and Giannis are completely unstoppable on a fast break possession.
The Round Mound of Rebound
barkley would cook in the nva right now 6'4 doin tht with them now he doin 40 a game
The best ever versatile player. Undersized. Grab the ball against 7 feet over big men. Good eyes like point guard.
Basically the dan mareno of basketball. Was a all around great player just never won a ring still consider him one of the best of all time for sure.
This dude 2 hand dunked with such ease, then hustles back up the court on defense
Still better than over half the players of today!!
Better than every player today except LeBron.
@@yd856 Mmmm I don't know about that. Kawhi, KD and Curry all have something to say about that.
@@lukaz3336 A prime charles had the efficiency of 58% which is 3rd highest in the history behind Kareem and Shaq. Pretty sure he would held his own with those 3.
