My Grandfather is Wayne A. Bolton. He was an amazing grandfather and father who I owe much of my temperament to. It makes me happy to see his work still used today. Thanks for this explanation of his thesis. He had like 400 custom made Bolton Analysis Mic's made when I was only around 12 years old. I wished I saved some of them. :-( He was a very amazing, kind, soft gentleman who taught
Sir could you please make videos on the treatment for different types of Malocclusion (Class I, II, III, crossbite, open bite, deep bite). Just basic treatment modalities and approach. Your way of explaining is amazing, this video would really help in concept build-up.
Pls. Can give us example, how to calculate the deficient size of upper lateral and how much should upper lateral incisors should be built up if we have peg shaped upper lateral incisors
Formula is mandibular tooth material /maxillary tooth material x 100. Lets say (e.g) in ur case you get sum of mandibular anterior tooth material equal to 38mm. Now u have to find out the value of maxillary tooth material to get normal value of Bolton which is 77% So ur formula will be 38/x multiply by 100=77.2 Simplify it. X=38x100/77.2 Answer is about 49mm Means combined width of your anterior maxillary teeth should be 49mm. Now u can check that what is the combined width of maxillary anterior in your case. Let's say its 46mm than u have to increase the width by adding 3mm more.
Are you asking how to determine the mesial-distal width of upper lateral incisors if they are peg-shaped? You can use the golden proportion ration which is the width of upper lateral incisor is 0.618 of the central incisors, so if the central incisor is 8mm the lateral will be approximately 5mm
there are some ranges of mesiodistal widths of each tooth. You will have to assess that on casts. For. Eg if upper centrals are 10mm wide and laterals are just 5mm then it's obvious upper lateral is smaller than expected
Salam. In orthodontics. Finishing case in class 1 canines is off utmost importance. Therefore we should measure anterior ratio separately bcz sometimes we plan to extract premolar in one arch or sometimes they are missing. In that scenario overall ratio is disturbed but if anterior ratio is normal. You can achieve class 1 canine and ideal overjet overbite and midline
If I send you photos can you please help? I've had a disastrous orthodontic experience and need help. I'm willing to pay a consultation fee. Thank you!
If canine or any tooth is missing then u won't measure that n there will be disturbance in value which has to be treated either by replacement of tooth or movement of posterior teeth forward

Golden proportion is clinical observation that can give you rough estimation but Bolton gives you precise measurement

Salam sir......can u plz tell me that why do we measure anterior ratio?
Why don't we only measure the overall ratio?

Voice is very low?
Yes. This was first recording which was compromised. I'll try to record n upload it again with some more additions
