Magui Bagua is unbelievable. I have studied martial arts for over 30 years and this is the most powerful art I have ever experienced. No matter what style you study this will make you and your art better.

There is video of his Liu style linear bagua. This is usually taught with cheng bagua as applied skill. Very good technique.

Ah yeah.. I've watched his Liu style one. But haven't found his Yin or MaGui style bagua. Thanks for replying :)

Yeah.. Lately been thinking I should train seriously. And in fact I do agree, Bagua improve its practitioner a lot. I see, so it's like trying to explain the taste of water eh? Best way is to drink it. Thanks for your advice Michael. Be happy. _/\_

    Hello Jerry,
I would never be able to answer here. All I can recommend is go to the website and try to go to a training session so that you can decide for yourself.

The use if the wrist and methods are taught. Please understand that more than the wrist methods were taught by Magui. We have them though.

    Hello too Michael,
Thanks for your suggestion. Right now I'm focusing myself on other art. But sooner or later, I hope I got the chance to learn Bagua too. Pardon me for being straightforward. Not meant to disrespect, both Magui lineage and you, Sir.. But I wonder how can you make claim it would benefit other people and their art while you don't know the answer? Thanks beforehand. :)

I wish you the best in your studies. No worries, I took no offense. I do know how it can benefit others and other arts, I just don't have the ability to write what I would like to say here. It is more than an intellectual pursuit it is something you must also feel.

Wang was very young when trained with Magui. We have to remember Magui spent alot if time with Dong. So I am sure he had other things than the 64 of Yin.

Is there any link of Wang's bagua around here?

This is quite a bit different than Wang Peisheng's. Wang was Ma Gui's last student.

While I don't know anything about this style, Wang Peisheng was in a league of his own. It's like if you had jimi hendrix play any song. He would make it his own.

    his knees must hurt :P

    • @Haelu786
      @Haelu786 9 лет назад

Longwei 龙威 Why? Ma Gui Bagua practices circle walking slowly which builds up the tendons supporting the knees (and elsewhere). I used to have bad knees, but circle walking every day has really given me stability and much better knees

    • @Long_Wei

      Haelu786 Thanks for the answer!
He does not keep the alignments of the knees throughout all movements, and that is very bad for the knees. They are not meant to be stretched or twisted. Knees are not rotating joints, unlike the shoulders or hips.
To improve the alignments, one must work more with the openings and closings of the Kua.
And in my humble opinion, one cannot build up the tendons supporting the knees by neglecting the knee alignments. one can only build up pain tolerance.
Circle walking surely strengthens the whole legs, as you said!
      i meant no offense.
      have a great day !

+Longwei 龙威 We are taught to protect the knees always with clean footwork and alignment. Perhaps you can't see clearly in this video. My experience is from following the directions given to me and in practicing solid stepping kou and bai in a way that the knees don't feel any pain at all. There is no twisting of the knee joints in Magui Bagua

+Longwei 龙威 The twist goes through the knee, not from the knee. Ba Gua is based on this force. You can't see clearly from a video. I watched it again after reading your comment and I see no mistakes being made. If you think it is a twist FROM the knee then you might be mistaken, in Ba Gua the twisting force goes down and up through the leg and is not done from a single joint.
