    I think it's great you're building this kit. It's one of my favorite kits, I must say. I built it about 10 or 15 years ago and I recall it being a great build; quite enjoyable. I still have a couple of them in my stash, actually. I recommend painting the rudder markings, though. It's easy enough and it certainly beats the rudder decals.I recall the interior being RLM 02, if I recall correctly. Tamiya has it in their line up, but is a little too dark. Nothing a little addition of Flat White won't cure. Of course, it's likely a little too late now, since you already have it painted and probably have the fuselage halves together.I'll be looking closely at this one and can't wait for the next installment.Todd, from Vancouver. :)

      +Todd MooreOh, you do have the fuselage halves together!

      +Todd MooreYou ARE going to paint the rudder, rather than use decals.Next time, I'll l watch the entire video, before commenting! :(

      +Todd Moore lol, no problem. Actually the kit is already been finished for over a week now. I like to finish most kits and then upload the videos. With the exception of a few like the Tie Advance restoration I recently did. I'm really not a fan of decals that you need to halve together too much work and usually they don't fit properly. So yes I'll show in the next video, I painted them white and then I cut out the black crosses and did a few touch ups with the black paint. Greetings from Alberta :D

    Too late for me to enter the Group Build now, even if I do have the new tool Airfix 1/72 Stuka which comes with markings for Legion Condor.. and the FROG 1/72 Tupolev SB-2, which comes with decals for the Republican side.. :) Got this kit as well, it's a very nice little Heller Bf 109.. :) Great start to the build.. watching this to see if there are any pitfalls with the kit, for when I get round to building mine.. ;) So far it seems surprisingly good.. :D

    Nice to have the option of early version of such an important fighter. As you mentioned a radically different nose shape ( a bit similar to the Buchon 109s )

      +Anthony Brown I quite agree. I'd love to build a Buchon one day, I'm hoping that Academy will release their 48th kit again :D

    Cool, Spanish Civil War 109. Nice to see an early variant bird built. Enjoy the rest of the kit. Too bad there's no pilot figure.
    Bill.

    Nice video here. What were you using to fix and hold down on the plastic, while you painted the cockpit chair and other things from 5:00? Was it just double sided sticky tape? I like the way how you made your own little holder to paint these small items here. Cheers.

      Hi Richard. I used Tamiya tape and just rolled it in itself. Double sided tape would work really well also. Thanks for watching :D

    really nice work on the model but what's the difference between fixed prop the other one

      Ace Scale Modeling
      The fixed prop does not have adjustable blade pitch, the other one does.

    What is the difference between filing and sanding

    • @rebelsatcloudnine
      @rebelsatcloudnine  8 лет назад

      +Reilly Davies Filling is another term for using putty, and sanding is well sanding the putty and plastic.

      @stevethefishdotnet 8 лет назад

      +rebelsatcloudnine No, he said "filing" not "filling." Reilly, to me filing is using a coarse file on the plastic to smooth down protrusions. Sanding is using sand paper or a sanding stick with a finer grit to smooth out a surface.

      Thanks, I won't file excess filler anymore :)

      +Reilly Davies Filing, I've found that when a modeler says they are "filing down" the kit they actually mean they are using a metal file for their work, instead of a sanding stick or sand paper. Just another way to differentiate what they are doing. :)
