- After a month or so, it's finally done! I just thought the song My Ordinary Life suited Spamton so well, I had to make an animatic out of it
Leave a comment if you liked! or don't, I'm not forcing you. 😂 Animatic was made in After Effects, you could probably get similar results in any intermediate video editing software, though.
Also catch me crying about the subtle detail of which addison disappeared first and last

pretty sure the blue one is the one who went to check on spamton, so it seems the community has decided he was the closest one to him.
I feel like Spamton is slowly becoming the Sans of this game. A short and quirky character that gets meme'd so often and so hard that you tend forget how tragic of a character they actually are lore-wise. (I mean, you know. The memes _are_ pretty good. But still.)

I think the fact Sans and Spamton blew up faster and harder than Jevil are evidence that fans DO gravitate towards characters BECAUSE of the tragedy of their stories, not just because they're fun comic relief.

The ending really captures the fear, anxiety and desperation of Spamton trying to call the one person who was the key to his success, then suddenly vanishing and leaving him all alone

You're right, this song totally fits Spamton. I like all the scenes, but my favorite has got to be when the Addisons disappear--the change in body language that comes with the change of clothes just feels so tangible, it really gets across what he's feeling.
Especially with them being black and grey I'm not so sure about grey but I know black means you lost someone or something in your life

Spamton's lore is about him being successful in the past because of help from a mysterious stranger (AKA gaster) gaster makes weird sounds to communicate because he only speaks with symbols (windings)
Those sounds were described as (garbage noises)
Those sounds were the last thing he heard before he gone insane because he lost everything he ever dreamed off
[Conclusion]
The shock in spamton's face is basically him going insane because he finally got the success he wanted
But lost everything short after
All the blame to gaster

Ok ok ok- this is random, but I seriously think I hit a breakthrough here about one of Spamton’s fixations. Idk where else to post this.
Does anyone remember hearing about the “Heaven’s Gate” cult? It was a cult that ended in 1997. Just- just go look it up. I swear it’s worth it.
Oh shoot, I think remember that. Idk I've heard and seen so many cults, but isnt that the one where all the members killed themselves to ascend to heaven? And there's only 2 left?
I think they even had a website. They used the internet as a field, using advertisements and web pages to attract members. Really messed up stuff. Honestly mass suicides in general are messed up.

The cult was fixated on getting to heaven, and used the Internet and websites to spread their message. The cult ended in 1997, the year Spamton is obsessed with. I think it’s worth noting, what with how he talks about Heaven.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet. But I'm absolutely in love that you had the Addisons disappear in the order of Pink first and Blue last. You can TELL Blue was trying to hard. He wanted to stay with Spam but it got too much and just... Agh so good!!
I thought that the Blue one was indeed a close friend... I mean, he went to check in on Spamton on the day of his eviction. But Spamton, for whatever reason, was already gone by then, right in the middle of the mysterious phonecall with garbage noises.

I don't think many people realize that the call with "garbage noise" that Spamton received was probably what told him he was a puppet in the first place. I really love how this animation portrays it, with Spamton seemingly unaware in the car commercial, and later showing him shocked as he listens to the call.

This is incredible. But I won't lie, I really wanted to see the three "I feel fear for the very last time" moments when he goes big, then when he becomes Spamton NEO, then finally when he falls down and is reduced to nothing but the Dealmaker.

This is actually perfect, the song, style, potrayal of each character, every detail just makes sense
The lyrics fit Spamton so so good, like for example "have I gained too much?"
It shows that now matter how much you possess, it can all vanish in an instant.

My headcanon is that Spamton kept saying the same things on his ads. He made the same advertisements, nothing new. Because of that people lost interest on him. This makes more sense when you see how he talks. Like what he says is planned before and he can't use his own words. He has to use the words thats given to him. He has to use words that makes people happy, like a true advertiser.

I think the artstyle helps a lot here. At least to me, I never saw Spamtom as a... person? His design is so peculiar and crooked it's hard to see a human, but in a lot of this art he just looks like a regular person, while still following his character design.
Just makes me feel even worse for him.
I've listened to this song so many times and I never realized the lyrics were "is there a real me" and "can you heal me" I thought the second one was "can you feel me" and I guess my mind just blanked on the first one. Literally thought this was an edited version of the song to fit Spamton

Ok, this made me have an outlandish thought, prompted by the line (and scene) "when you become untouchable you're unable to touch"
It's been established that Spamton's likely caller is Ghaster. We know he's scattered across time and spece and such after his accident in the CORE.
His interactions have influenced average people but his strongest presence happens when being with/interacting with powerful characters such as Sans, Frisk and in Deltarune... Spamton.
Somehow that gave me the headcannon that Ghaster is experimenting with people he finds who he deems have enough potential. He then elevates them in power such they they might be able to ascend to or paralell to his plane of existence or, give them the will and power to attain the strength that pulls him back to the physical plane.
Spamton is one of the people he tried it on, and in Spamton, that power boost manifested into his salesman persona making him a crazy celebrity BIG SHOT.
Ghaster realised that his influence on Spamton was not assisting him but Spamton. He became "untouchable" so Ghaster was "unable to touch" him. Hence he cuts ties with Spamton while Spamton still remains bound to his strings as he is still in an elevated state. Ghaster's concerns are made obvious when he goes NEO but with the strings cut and no lifeline it's all in vein. But without that, who knows what Spamton could've done in a NEO state.
Yeah I have way too much imagination and I'm sure a hardcore fan will have fun picking out the incorrect info and holes in this. Was fun to imagine though.

thanks! I can't get insanely specific but overall this was made in after effects, mainly just through creating 2d drawings, separating them into layers, and moving a few elements by using keyframes. Besides after effects, I think most intermediate video editing software could get you similar results. You'd also might want to be familiar with 3d layers and the in-software camera but overall it wasn't too complicated to make!
