    Good explanation but you should use always use the proper terms while explaining otherwise new learners might be confused.
    For example, the first reading you take after setting up the dumpy level is called the B.S or back sight. After you turn the D.level from the same position and take the second reading after moving the staff to a new position is called the F.S or the Front sight.
    Now you subtract the B.S and F.S value (B.S - F.S), if the value is positive it is called Rise and if the value is negative it's called Fall. You add (Rise) or subtract (Fall) this value to the first Benchmark value (100 or 50) to get the new benchmark value.
    Now you can change station i.e. move the D.level to a new spot but let the staff will remain in the same position and again take the B.S reading for the new position of the D.level and so on.

    Sir,
    In this video RL of B should be 48.30-4.20 = 44.10 and hence HI(3) should be 44.10+1.30=45.40 and RL of C = 45.40-3.20=42.20

    sir if we have excavation more than 5m and we have some work under 1m after 5m ,so in that case we need every day to shift the level from our bench mark,,so is there any solution we shift the bench mark at and then we wil every go there ,without check the orignial banch mark we will check shifted bench mark and start our work,,,,please explain
